Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,

Thank you to those families who continue to choose to send your child to school with a mask. Even if you have opted out of the mask for your child, it's always a good idea to send one in their backpack. While we are practicing social distancing as much as possible, there are times when students are working in groups when wearing a mask is a good idea. Please know that wearing a mask is not just to protect the person wearing the mask, it is to protect others and make them feel safe at school. Remember to watch for my email over the weekend for Covid updates.

Here are some general reminders for all our parents, and especially for new families who may have missed this information in the spring and summer.

  • Attending Mass and putting an envelope in the box in the back of the church is mandatory in order to have the Catholic tuition rate. I will be checking envelope usage in October and again in December. Families with the Catholic rate who are not attending Mass will be put to the full tuition rate for the remainder of the year. If you attend another parish, we need to have a Parish Verification form on file.

  • This year all families must contribute $200 in fundraising dollars through our two PTCO fundraising events - the Fall Walkathon and Spring Spirit Raffle. Those who do not meet this requirement will be charged an additional tuition fee (either $200 or the balance owed) in May through FACTS.

Next Thursday is Fall Picture Day and all students must be in their regular school uniform. Students in grades 4, 7, and 8 may bring their PE uniforms to change into after they have their picture taken.

Thank you all for your continued support and all the kind words I have received. Please know we are all doing our best to keep our students safe and healthy.

Peace and Blessings,

Linda Umoh

The sign is located on the corner of our school parking lot and will be viewed and celebrated for the entire week. A PTCO member will be responsible for putting up the sign and after the week is done, the sign will be sent home with your student for yours to keep or to reuse for a future week!
If you have an existing sign, the cost is $30 for the week. If we need to order a new sign, the cost is $50 for the week. Please make payments through the school's front office.
To sign up, please use the following link and more details will follow. Please note, new signs take up to 2 weeks to process and receive from our vendor. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Nicole Rodriguez at Thank you in advance for your support!

Annual Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge Announcement
Date: Saturday, September 11, 2021
Time: 9:30 am to 11:30am
Place: St. Stephen Soccer Field

The Knights Council 14084 again invites “ALL boys and girls ages 9-14” to come out and participate in the 2021 Soccer Free Kick Challenge. Parents can pick up the participation form from the School Office or click here for the form. Please return it no later than Wednesday, September 8 to the School Office. This allows time to complete the certificates and set up rosters. Forms may also be downloaded from the school or parish website.

The challenge is a “free kick” from 12 yards. 3 practice kicks and 15 attempts to score 5 points (center), 10 points (bottom corners), or 20 points (top corners). In the event of a tie in the same age group, there will be free kicks from 15 yards, 3 shots each until we have a winner.
There will be water and snacks available during the event.

** Note: The District Challenge is scheduled for October 9, 2021 (9:30 am-1130am), at our St. Stephen Soccer Field.

During this challenging time, it is also requested that each participant have a mask on but may remove it during their time at the line. All judges will wear masks and we also ask that the 6-foot social distancing practice remain unless you are together with immediate family members during the event. Chairs and tents may be brought if you choose. We will also have hand sanitizer available.

After both council and district challenges are complete we will also have an opportunity for pictures. We warmly welcome you to this year’s event and hope to see a good turnout from each age group boys and girls!

Parking: Parents may park along the road in the grass across from the field or in the school parking lot area for the event.

Public Library Haal Pass
The Haal Pass allows our students to access public library resources with just their student ID number and Pin. Students will use their student ID number (from FACTS) and their password of 4321 to log into the site. This allows them to check out physical copies of books as well as digital books, audiobooks, and any other materials available from the public library. Students can also use this account to check out ebooks on Overdrive or Libby, the digital reader programs used by the public library.
