It was great to have students back on campus all week for Orientation and classes!
A Message from the Director of Campus Ministry and the Director of Student Activities:
Welcome back, Carondelet students and families! Today marks the beginning of Welcome Week, which grounds our school year in a spirit of hospitality and inclusion. As students are welcomed back to the classroom, we are all welcomed again into the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
In our Welcome to the Sisterhood Mass on Wednesday, August 21, we will formally welcome the Class of 2028 into our community with the blessing and presentation of their Sisterhood bracelets. As the freshmen take their first steps toward Sisterhood during this special celebration, all students recommit to their Sisterhood promises. Our opening liturgy and all our fun Welcome Week activities are expressions of the special gift of Unifying Love that we are called to share with our community and the world.
This gift, our charism, is the gift of unity. The CSJ charism of Unifying Love does not only belong to our founding sisters—but to all of us who partner with the sisters in fulfilling Jesus’ desire that all may be one. Our charism is not an easy one. Moving toward Oneness requires patience, second chances, joyful celebrations, and brave conversations. We encourage all students to approach Welcome Week with an open mind and have fun at our various lunchtime activities, rally, and dances!
Starting a new school year, whether it’s your first or fourth year here at Carondelet, can be a scary time. During Welcome Week, we hope that small moments of connection among students will inspire them to continue to create brave and welcoming spaces for Sisterhood to grow throughout the rest of the school year.

Main Office Hours
The Main Office is open from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
No Food Service Delivery
For the safety and security of our community, we do not allow food service deliveries (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.) on campus. Food dropped off from delivery services will be confiscated or returned to the vendor.
Traffic & Parking
Please allow extra time to navigate our parking lot during the opening weeks of school. Here are a few important reminders:
Drop Off:
-
Treat Blvd. and Winton Drive are NOT a drop-off zone. Please do not let students out of the car on Treat, Winton, or in the neighborhood.
-
All numbered spaces are assigned to students and staff. Please utilize the drop-off zone in the back of campus and do not pull into numbered spaces, no matter what time you arrive on campus.
- If you need to stop and park, please use our visitor parking found just after turning left after the flagpole.
- Our lot is busiest between 8:05 and 8:15 AM, so we encourage everyone to plan to arrive before 8:05 AM to allow for plenty of time to get to class.
Pick Up:
-
It can take up to 20 minutes to clear our parking lot at the end of the school day. Please plan accordingly.
-
For a smoother exit, we recommend arriving at campus to pick up your student no earlier than 10 minutes after the final bell.
-
If you arrive on campus to pick up your student before the final bell rings, we recommend that you park in any open parking spot in our back lot to avoid blocking parking spaces.
-
To be good neighbors, please do not pick up in the neighborhood behind the school or block driveways.
School Store Orders
Initial school store orders were delivered to your student's fifth-period classroom on Wednesday, August 14. Please have them check their classroom if they are still missing their order. Any orders delivered after August 14 will be available for pick up at the Convent in the stairwell. Purchases are in alphabetical order. Contact Angie Hatfield, Proforma, if you cannot find your order.
2024-25 Uniform Expectations
We encourage all students and families to familiarize themselves with our uniform policy. Questions? Email Dean of Students Caitlin Main.
Cell Phone Policy
To help foster engagement in the classroom, students are expected to turn their phones into the classroom cell phone pockets at the beginning of each class period. There are also specific schoolwide events where phones will not be allowed. For these reasons, we want to remind parents to call Nicole Ebert directly (ext. 116) in the Attendance Office with any urgent needs.
Lunch: MySchoolBucks by Epicurean
Epicurean provides high-quality, healthy meals for Carondelet’s students, faculty, and staff to purchase. Current students who have a MySchoolBucks account can add money to their account now. New students can add money to their account once they have received their student school ID number (in early August). Follow the instructions on this page and select Carondelet High School (Concord) from the dropdown menu in MySchoolBucks. If you have any questions setting up your account, please contact Epicurean directly by emailing General Manager Candace Barnes.
View the Garaventa Cafe webpage for more information about food options and Epicurean.

Academic & Learning Support

Attention Students and Parents!
We’re excited to share information about PowerStart and PowerLab—two fantastic programs designed to help students stay organized and academically prepared. These sessions, located in the library and supervised by our dedicated academic counselor team, offer valuable opportunities for students to excel. Parents and teachers can recommend their students for PowerLab using this PowerLab referral form. Please only do so after a discussion has been had with the student.
-
Power Start: Start the day strong with a focused study session from 7:30 to 8:10 AM every Monday through Thursday in the library. It’s an ideal time for students to get ahead on assignments, review notes, or ask any questions before classes begin. We begin at 8:45 AM on late start Wednesdays.
-
PowerLab: After the school day ends, in the library, students can continue their studies with PowerLab, which begins just five minutes after the last class of the day. It’s a supportive environment for completing homework, studying, and working on projects.
For additional support, teachers are available for office hours on Tuesday through Thursday from 3:00 to 3:30 PM in the designated location (check syllabus), or by appointment.
We encourage all students to take advantage of these opportunities to enhance their learning and stay on top of their studies. Sessions and teacher office hours begin the week of August 26. We look forward to seeing everyone at PowerStart and PowerLab!

Generous donors who make annual gifts of $1,965 or more in an academic year are invited to a reception with our President and recognized in Many the Gifts as members of the 1965 Society, commemorating the year of Carondelet's founding.
We invite those who aren't already members to join today by making a gift of $1,965 or more. In honor of your generosity, you'll immediately receive an invitation to our Cocktail Reception on Thursday, September 5.

Please reach out to the Director of Philanthropy Lynne Sabbagha Kenny ’86 P’24 to review your giving history or learn more about this donor society.
