Dayspring Choir? Now’s a great time! Dayspring has a summer choir that will sing in the service this Sunday, August 13, and again on August 27. The choir meets at 9:15 the morning of the service (no weekday rehearsals). Come join us! Email David for more information.

Taizé brings a time for contemplative worship which involves sung and chanted prayers, meditation, a period of silence, liturgical readings, and icons - it is a quiet opportunity for unhurried, deep personal connection with God. The next Taizé Service will be held in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, August 20 at 4:00pm.

Whether you’re new to Dayspring or have been attending for a while, we invite you to attend a one-hour session with Pastor Jeff to learn more about the UMC and Dayspring, specifically, on Sunday, August 20 at 11:45am. We will meet both in-person in Room 112 and Zoom. We will also host a New Member Orientation on August 21 at 2:00pm at Friendship Village. If you would like to attend either session, please email the church office.

We are a growing church and would like to create a group of individuals that would be willing to mentor a new member to through at least their first three months after joining our community. If you would like more information or to be in the mentor pool, please email Suzanne.

Come to Dayspring on Friday, August 25 for an ice cream social with sundae bar. Be sure to wear your comfy clothes and bring snacks, sleeping bags, and stuffed animals, because after ice cream we will cozy up on the floor of Fellowship Hall for a family movie night. The ice cream social starts at 6:30 and movie starts at 7pm. 

The Explorer’s Adult Sunday School class has a GREAT line-up for the Fall. All are welcome to join us at 9.00am in the Palo Verde Room. On August 27, we’re starting a five week look at the “God of the Bible.” We have time each week for discussion and questions. Please email Mark with any questions.

We're looking for a new volunteer Dayspring Librarian. If you're passionate about reading, organizing information, and creating a welcoming library environment, we'd love to welcome you to our team! Organize, catalog, and maintain our collection of educational and inspirational texts. Share your love for books while contributing to a vibrant church environment. No prior library experience necessary. Join us in spreading knowledge and inspiration. Email the church office if you are interested or would like more information.

The Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that Cindy Van Vleet will be our new Handbells Director. Cindy is a member of the Celebration Choir and various handbell ensembles. She has been active in Dayspring’s ministries since moving to Arizona in 2007. She will be an outstanding addition to Dayspring’s staff.

We thank Julie Hackmann for her 20 years of service to Dayspring as director of the handbells and wish her well as she retires from this position.

Did you know that turning up your thermostat by just one degree saves two to three percent on energy cooling costs, according to Arizona Public Service. Heating and cooling appliances consume about half of the electricity used by the average U.S. household. The S.A.G.E. team (Spiritual Activists Greening the Earth) encourages Dayspring members to adopt at least two new actions or habits this year to protect God’s sacred creation.
