Wednesdays at Settle Kick Off on Sept. 11 with a Potluck

Save the date for Wednesdays at Settle to start back on Sept. 11. Our Wednesday evening programming offers a light meal and something for all ages.

On kickoff night, Sept. 11, we will enjoy a potluck dinner for our meal at 5 p.m. in the ROC before our regular activities. The church will provide meat and drinks, and each family is asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share!

Our Wednesday Bible studies this year will take place at 4 p.m. (new) and 5:45 p.m. The 4 p.m. Bible study will be led by Pastor Jim Keegan and use the study guide "A Disciple's Path" by James Harnish. The 5:45 p.m. study "Follow Me" will be led by Pastor Mark Dickinson. All adults are invited to these studies as well as to dinner before/after the study.

Youth small groups (Grades 6-12) will meet on Wednesdays after the meal, and children’s choir (age 4-Grade 5) will meet in our Education Building to begin rehearsing their Christmas program. All interested also are invited to God’s Troubadours, a folk music group, at 5:45 p.m. in the Shepherd Center or to choir rehearsal at 6:45 p.m. in the Shepherd Center.

We hope you and your family will carve out time in your schedules for these evenings of food, fun, fellowship and learning more about the Scripture. 

New Sermon Series Begins Sunday

Starting this Sunday, Sept. 1, and continuing Sept. 8, 22 & 29, Pastor Mark's sermon series will examine God’s gifts that he gives us to help us in life. The series will look at time, free choice, financial gifts and talents. 

Week one will look at how time is a gift from God to be used appropriately. We are not guaranteed more of it. Use it to make a difference. Week two will examine the free choice that we have been given to decide how we go about life. Will we be hurried or slow? Will we be busy on urgent things or important things? Week three will address how God has blessed us with financial gifts. How will we use this gift to make a difference in our church, community, and world? Week four will look at God’s gift of talents. How can I serve God in His kingdom? You and I were made to minister. 

Consider Joining the Settle Quilters

Settle's quilters are always looking for folks to join their group. If you sew, however simply, consider joining us. Our projects are varied, so there is something for everyone! Currently, we are meeting on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. and would love to have you.
