Dear Audubon Elementary School Families,

Dear Audubon Families,

I hope this letter finds you refreshed and rejuvenated after a wonderful Spring break! As we welcome everyone back to our school community, I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support.

Your partnership with us at Audubon is invaluable, and it's because of your dedication and involvement that we're able to create such a vibrant and nurturing environment for our students to learn and grow.

As we embark on the remainder of the school year, I want to emphasize the importance of your role in supporting student success. One of the simplest yet most impactful ways you can help is by ensuring your child arrives at school on time every day that they are not ill. Consistent attendance lays a strong foundation for learning and academic achievement.

Moreover, I encourage you to continue to inspire and motivate your students to rise to the challenges of learning. Every milestone they achieve is a testament to their hard work and your unwavering encouragement.

Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for Teacher Appreciation in early May. It's an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the incredible educators who make a difference in our children's lives each day. Your participation in recognizing their efforts is greatly appreciated.

Additionally, I invite you to join us at upcoming PTO meetings and Koffee with Kristene sessions. These gatherings provide valuable opportunities for us to connect, share ideas, and strengthen our school community together.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. Together, we can ensure that every student at Audubon thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

Warm regards,

Kristene Gillmer,

Principal at Audubon Elementary Elementary

With spring weather, we will still have wet, cold days. Please be sure your student/s are dressed appropriately, and it is always a good idea to put spare clothing in their backpack (especially for grades PK-3).

If you receive a text message from the nurse (509-906-4837) please respond when needed. Even if it's just an 'ok' or 'got it'. That way I'm not calling all of your emergency contacts to reach you.

If your or any of the contacts for your student/s number or address has changed, please let us know right away. That is the only information we have to be able to effectively reach you.

Please remember to label your child's coats/jackets/backpacks/

lunch bags. Our lost & found fills up quickly and it's helpful for us to return misplaced items if they are correctly labeled.

Earth Day- April 22nd, 2024

"The Earth is the most important planet in the solar system. Why? Because it is the only planet with life (that we know of), and we live here. We need a healthy Earth to be able to survive and it is our responsibility to keep it clean and to thrive for future generations. Earth Day is a special day where we celebrate the Earth and find ways to help make it a happier and healthier place to live."

The Purposeful People Character Trait of May is Creativity!

Often times we find ourselves in situations that require us to solve problems or create something new, and in those situations, we can feel stuck or unable to get started. Practicing Creativity can help us develop tools that allow us to use our imagination to get started. This month's focus is on practicing Creativity to support emotion regulation.

Conversation Starters:

  • Can you share or show me what Creativity means?
  • What did you do this week that practiced Creativity? How did it make you feel?
