Greetings!

The enthusiasm for Hoover's upcoming 80th Anniversary Celebration has been wonderful to see.

Now, it is time to officially announce much of the information for this fall's events. I would encourage everyone who receives this email to please pass the information on to Hoover alumni everywhere as word of mouth and email will be the way that the information flows to people. If you are a class rep, please pass this information on to your classmates.

Hoover High School will celebrate 80 years of excellence with our 80th Dinner Celebration on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the San Diego Bob Breitbard (Class of 1937) Hall of Champions.

This event will feature a "History of Hoover Film", honor our Elite 8 Achievers of 2010, and induct 3 individuals into our Legends Hall of Fame (Ted Giannoulas aka San Diego Chicken; Tony Banks; and Todd Doxey). We will also have a silent auction and individual exhibits featuring Hoover of yesteryear as well as Hoover in the future! It should be a terrific night for every Cardinal! In conjunction with our 80th Dinner Celebration, we will also be holding our Homecoming Game on Friday, October 8th at Hoover High School.

The game will pit the mighty Cardinals against our longtime rival, San Diego High School. This game and the entire week leading up to it will have a very different look and feel from years past, and it already has the makings of one of the best homecomings in Hoover's history. We will have alumni tents and activities set up prior to the game as well as during the game.

We are encouraging alumni from every generation to come early and tailgate in our front quad. Here is some information on the game:
