Young Adults Make a Difference in Taiwan

Missionary volunteers pose for a photo during the Mission Impact Taiwan mission trip with Teddy Williamson, Southern New England Conference Young Adult and Youth Sabbath School director, white shirt. [Photo provided by E. Michelle Maitland]

Young adults from the Southern New England Conference made a lasting impact during "Mission Impact Taiwan" (MIT), a spring mission trip to Yuchih in the center of Nantou County, Taiwan. The missionaries taught English, held evangelistic series, led song services, provided special music, and participated in community service. MIT was also honored to conduct the first series of VBS classes at a local public elementary school. At the culmination of the evangelistic series, two individuals were baptized, with others committing to future baptism. Indeed, there is joy in heaven!

The Utica International church in Utica, New York, offers a free adult education program open to all community members, regardless of religious affiliation. The courses are designed to provide accessible, high-quality education to anyone interested in improving their skills and knowledge. The program is ideal for individuals seeking new qualifications, improving job prospects, or simply for personal enrichment. Sponsored by the Sabbath School department, the news of ESL/ELL and Consumer Math classes quickly spread to the Congolese, Karen, and Spanish communities.
