Over the weekend, the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa in Stamford, Connecticut, buzzed with energy as more than 700 attendees from Hispanic churches and conference ministries across the Atlantic Union convened for a transformative event. Sponsored by the Atlantic Union Conference Hispanic Ministries, the Hispanic Leadership Convention offered over 42 enriching seminars and 12 general sessions focused on leadership and spiritual growth, led by dedicated ministry leaders. The event catered to multiple leaders—elders and leaders of church departments such as Sabbath School, Prayer Ministries, Family Ministries, etc. "These leaders have been qualified and given the tools to work and put into practice what they received from the convention to bring to their churches and impart to others," said Henry Beras, Atlantic Union Conference Hispanic Ministries vice president.
The event also launched Cuando Jesus Llega (When Jesus Comes), an evangelism series happening simultaneously at 75 churches around the Atlantic Union, May 4-11. The series will be followed by a final week, May 11-18, with Beras presenting at the Leon de Juda church in Waterbury, Connecticut. It will be broadcast on Hope Channel's Esperanza TV and various Christian radio stations in the United States and abroad.

Young adults from all over the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) and beyond filled registration to capacity for the 2024 SPARKS, the annual spiritual experience sponsored by the SNEC Youth Ministries. Paulo Tenorio, a pastor in the Guam-Micronesia Mission, was the guest speaker for the weekend at Camp Winnekeag, March 22-24. He brought messages to the listeners that resonated and touched many hearts. Attendees enjoyed early-morning devotional sessions, inspirational music from area musicians, breakout groups to discuss Adventist doctrine, and the very popular "Power Talk," where a guest panel of pastors and a professional counselor answered anonymous questions from the audience submitted through an app. Martelise Peden from the Willimantic church called the event "a blessing," adding, "the messages . . . spoke directly to what I needed right at the moment."
