ELEMENTARY SOFTBALL
Our elementary team had quite a groundbreaking moment since the pandemic occurred! It went through from beginning to end, including 14 mighty young athletes and two top-notch coaches: Nathan Dingel and Easter Tauaese-Faafiti. It is grouped into the ages between third and fifth grade. They all brought a bag of hidden talents to the field and eventually blossomed from week to week. Players emphasized hitting, fielding, and pitching techniques often during practice hours, and their progression was remarking. As CSD Eagles played the season into a packed schedule with more than ten matches, the softball team played it almost every week for nearly three months. Each game went into a nail-biting finish, thrilling from inning to inning. During the season, family members, staff, and community supporters put much effort into our softballers with snacks, support at the game, and rides to softball fields. They pushed hard to make everything possible, especially normalcy, become a reality. Their season wrapped up with team dinner and a trip to miniature golf. Awards were handed out to all players with a medal, plus recognized notable individuals for their accomplishments this year. It gets better and brighter for the Youth Athletics!

ELEMENTARY
FLAG FOOTBALL
The flag football is hosted at the school, and there are no league competitions for our players, yet, we provide them a fully comprehensive training in different skills and challenges. It was open for all ages in elementary, and it ended up with more than fifteen participants! Excellent coach Luis Ledezma, along with his sidekicks, guided them with countless ideas for drills. He is truly a whiz with all of those ideas! The energy around the field was on fire, and their passion was always with them. Their vow in football is not going anywhere and will carry for many years!

MIDDLE SCHOOL
GIRLS & BOYS VOLLEYBALL
In the early springtime, volleyball season commenced for both Middle School boys and girls. It is the first time both genders have played sports season at the same time since school begins. Coaches Manuel Sandoval and Alicia Flores took charge of both teams, and both coaches ran both groups, putting a new challenge to scheduling practice sessions. Both teams reached a high level of competition, and they had won a bunch of games, and some players showed huge improvements from the previous volleyball season to now, especially hitting and serving! During the season, all home matches are played at the Big Gym, which most Middle Schoolers have not experienced, with a tremendous game experience and more fans. It was electrifying! Some players were eighth graders and would have another chance to play volleyball in high school for girls and boys!

MIDDLE SCHOOL
TRACK & FIELD
The final athletic season in Middle School Athletics is Track & Field. Xavier Chin, the head coach, takes charge along with assistant coach Aileen Souza. Fifteen players are competing in different events. They prepared for almost three full weeks before their first official meet by improving endurance, strength, techniques, and consistency. In addition, our Strength and Conditioning Head Coach, Nathan Boyes, provided a crash course of sessions, focusing on burst, reaction time, and stability. We played two meets, and both were pretty successful for the Eagles! We competed with other schools and topped with a top-five finish in most of them! Overall, we completed over many athletes, in terms, of overall points from results and times. Our players' motivation dramatically increased from the first to the final meet with a better understanding of their performance and applications with skills. Some players are already determined in this sport and would like to improve themselves after the season. Coaches and I were amazing to see how much they have contributed since day one!

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
First time ever in school history, we have boys volleyball program! We started with the tryouts and over 20 boys tried out! And, we had a good season considering most of the boys' first time playing volleyball! Congratulations to Coach Ruan for his first victory ever in the books with a 3-2 win over Summit Tamalpais last March! On top of that, it was our first match of season!
As season went on, the boys did a great job and giving opponents a hard time! We went 3-7. Our league was a bit tough as the other schools already have boys VB program for a few years. But, CSD with eagles flying high, we did pretty good!

TRACK & FIELD
We started the season on the right foot with over 30 athletes. As season went on, we naturally lost some to injuries and other commitments. But, they did well in every meet especially league meets! Our boys did not finish worse than 3rd in every league meet! Our girls did not finish worse than 7th in every league meet!
Congratulations to Elijah Fabela, Sophomore, for being qualified to Meet of Champions in 400M! Unfortunately, he did not win any medal. But, he represented us well!
