The Pantone Matching System
You probably already know that the CMYK printing process works by combining four different inks to emulate a full range of different colours. What fewer people might fully understand is how the Pantone Matching System (PMS) works. There is often a tendency to wrongly assume that Pantone colours work in a similar fashion to CMYK. They are actually quite different and both were created to serve different purposes.
