Back-to-School Transitions: Tips for Parents

The transition back to school can be a difficult adjustment for children and parents. Getting the new school year off right can help influence children’s self-confidence, attitude, as well as social and academic performance.

Dr. Young's Psychology Today blog offers helpful tips to ease the transition and support a successful school experience for you and your child.

RCBM is pleased to introduce Medabolic, a lifestyle management program that utilizes a multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based approach, under the medical leadership of Joel L. Young, MD and Derek Susalla, PA-C. We address weight concerns from a risk factor reduction perspective rather than an aesthetic one.

Participation in the Medabolic program starts with an intake interview and comprehensive diagnostic assessment. If the program's criteria are met, a carefully tailored treatment plan will be created based on the individual's needs, integrating the services of our highly trained team of providers, including psychiatrists, physician assistants and nurse practitioners; psychotherapists, and registered dietitians. For some individuals, medication may be a part of your weight loss journey.

SPRAVATO® Program

If you suffer from treatment-resistant depression, hope is here. SPRAVATO® is a prescription medicine, used along with an antidepressant taken by mouth to treat:

• Adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD)

• Depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or actions

Hear what some of our Spravato program participants have to say about their experience:

"The staff is absolutely wonderful and makes treatment a pleasant time. I usually have anxiety, but the staff is so welcoming and friendly that I don't feel any anxiety when doing my treatment."

"Well coordinated program - should be the model for other programs or eventually Spravato administration specific practices."

"The Spravato staff is phenomenal! They have helped and encouraged me over and over again."

RCBM's Comprehensive Eating Disorders Treatment Program

Eating disorders affect over 30 million people in the United States and do not discriminate among socioeconomic status, race, religion, age, or gender.

RCBM's eating disorders treatment team is made up of psychotherapists, registered dietitians, and medication providers all highly trained in evidence-based treatment of eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant food intake restrictive disorder (ARFID).
