Greetings!
A special shout out to Franklin TV and Radio. Quietly located on Hutchinson Street, the energetic team of staff and volunteers continues to promote and advance Franklin news and happenings including arts and culture, town government, school sports and events, and life in Franklin. If unable to attend an event in person, you can access presentations on cable access TV (three channels), Zoom, or streaming through their youtube channel. The TV/video offerings are expanded through broadcast radio, wfpr.fm 102.9 that can be reached on traditional radio or over the Internet. Finally, the media arm of Franklin TV and Radio, Franklin Matters, shares content via its daily column and podcasts.
Recently, Franklin TV recorded the opera, Mary Anning: Fossil Hunter, highlighted in last week's Cultural Newsletter. Presented live at the First Universalist Society in Franklin, the opera, written by Dr. Jon Ceander Mitchell, was made possible in part by a Cultural Investment Fund Grant through the Mass Cultural Council and Franklin Cultural District Committee. If you missed seeing the opera in person, select Mary Anning: Fossil Hunter to view and listen through Franklin TV Youtube. Thank you! (For full disclosure, the Cultural Newsletter editor serves on the Board of Franklin TV and Radio.)
