Greetings Friends in Arts and Culture ...
The Franklin Cultural Council and the Franklin Cultural District Committee recently celebrated FCC Grants and FCDC Cultural District Investment Funds through the Mass Cultural Council and Town of Franklin. John Ristaino, Chair, FCC, facilitated the evening. A Dean College Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Timothy Ayres-Kerr, Instructor of Voice, Dean College and FSPA, opened the evening. The Dean Ensemble's performance set the stage for recognizing arts and culture.
Each grant/fund award was acknowledged and described. Corey Shea, Director of Arts, Culture and the Creative Environment spoke about arts and culture in Franklin. The evening came to a close with a wonderful folk dance performance featuring three different regions, performed by Swati Rao ( member of FCC), Sonal Dave, and Deepa Bhaskar.
We are grateful to Dean College for donating the use of Alumni Memorial Hall and for providing refreshments, the Mass Cultural Council for funding assistance, and Town of Franklin for funding assistance and ongoing support. Thank you Franklin TV for recording the event. Watch for it on the Franklin TV All Access YouTube channel. Thank you to all!
Arts and Culture happen in the Cultural District and throughout Franklin!

Artsy Box Update
(Featured Art by Kelly Feeherry Artsy Box 2023)
The Franklin Cultural District is so excited to share more about our artist selections for this year's Artsy Box project. Each week, we will share more about each artist to give you a glimpse on their style, work and inspiration.
This week's highlight is Brittni Laquidara. As a refresher, Brittni is painting "Saturday Morning", a piece inspired by the casual morning interactions of whimsical birds. "Brittni is a visual artist and aspiring children’s book author/illustrator from Upton, MA.
She draws, paints, and sculpts. Her biggest source of inspiration is her twin girls, whose imaginative play is enough to cure any bouts of artist’s block. Samples of her work can be found at brittnilaquidara.com/portfolio".
We are looking forward to seeing Brittni's interpretation of Franklin's beauty in town. Thank you to the Mass Cultural Council and the Town of Franklin for funding this wonderful opportunity to share public art.
