grants funding
Grants for individual artists -- IACA believes the arts are essential to the health and vitality of our communities and our nation. IACA Mini-Grants generally average $250. Funding is intended to assist with such things as: art supplies, recording studio time, exhibits, performances, project related expenses, etc. Application deadline, Feb. 12, 2020. Learn more.

Grants for nonprofit organizations -- IACA Mini-Grants for organizations generally average $350 and are intended to assist with the following: artistic programs that engage the community; projects that involve educating youth in the arts; services for artists; leadership training that will increase an arts organization's strength and capacity for the long term, etc. Application deadline is March 1, 2020. Impression 5 Science Center   is seeking a guest experience team member to lead and deliver opportunities in a classroom setting and on the main exploration area, deliver hands-on workshops and more. Delta Township announces a request for proposals from qualified artists to create a permanent placemaking/public art piece. Proposals may be artistic, cultural or popular in nature and may (but are not required to) feature themes related to the Township’s unique history. Learn more.

Swartz Creek Kiwanis Club, Swartz Creek Area Art Guild and Swartz Creek GFWC Women's Club announce a call to artists for the 12th annual Art in the Park fine art festival at Elms Park in Swartz Creek, Mich. Artists are invited to submit application to the jury selection committee. Learn more.

Kalamazoo Institute of Arts   announces a call to artists for its 69th annual Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Fair held in June 2020. This juried show features up to 190 fine artists. Application deadline: Jan. 31, 2020. Application fee is $35.  Learn more.

Dexter Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee and the City of Dexter, Mich. announce a call to artists for Dexter Art Gardens annual outdoor sculpture exhibition. Sculpture submissions will be juried, and those chosen will be on temporary display, alongside the City’s permanent collection, from June 2020 – May 2021. Artists may submit up to three sculptures for consideration. Entries must be free-standing and durable for year-round outdoor display. Selected artists will receive a $900 stipend following installation. Learn more.

The Rio Grande Balley International Poetry Festival announces a call to poets for the International Poetry Festival Anthology Submit up to three typewritten poems in a legible font. Poems may be of any topic, any style—although visual/shape poems can be difficult due to margin limitations. Soul by Southwest 2020 is seeking submissions for its literary and visual arts journal that engage or illuminate the theme of "rupture and repair" on some level -- the personal, the communal, the global, or the cosmic. Creative interpretations of the theme are welcome. Deadline is Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, and entries from professionals and amateurs of all ages.  Learn more.

The Foundry Art Center  is seeking submissions for "Voting Daughters," celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. This exhibition calls on artists, regardless of their gender identity, to comment on the ways women's voices affect our contemporary landscape. Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center  announces a call to artists for the 2020 Michigan Collegiate Art Exhibition, a competitive exhibition to be held in March 2020. Artworks of all medias are eligible, including but not limited to the following: paintings, sculpture, mixed media, photography, graphic design, installations, short film and video games. More than $2,000 in total awards will be distributed. Deadline to apply is Jan. 23, 2020.  Learn more.

Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center announces The Ingham Student Art Exhibit, a competition open to all K-12 students within the Ingham Intermediate School District service area. A qualified juror will select 50 works of art to be professionally framed and exhibited at one of several locations across the mid-Michigan area. Scholarship opportunities are offered. Learn more. 

Northwest Area Arts Council announces a call to artists for its annual juried international fine art exhibit "Women's Works 2020." Women’s Works provides an opportunity to showcase the creative artwork of women artists in North America and Internationally during March (Women’s History Month) and April each year. This is the 33rd Anniversary of the Women’s Works show. More than $1,500 in prizes will be awarded. Learn more.

Pop Revolution Gallery announces a call to artists for their animal benefit show. Y our love for animals should be the focus of your piece. The gallery will donate 50 percent of the entry fees to the Humane Society of the United States; specifically, their animal rescue efforts associated with natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires. LowellArts announces its 34th Annual LowellArts West Michigan Art Competition highlights outstanding artwork by Lower West Michigan artists who reside in a 25-county region. Boynes Emerging Artist Award  call for entries for paintings, drawings and photography of any size or support. Artwork must have been completed in the last three (3) years. Work will be judged based on skill, composition, impact and originality. Open to all artists regardless of country of origin/residence, sex and age. Purpose is to give a platform to talented artists around the world who remain unrecognized for their brilliant work, as well as to support artists at the beginning of their artistic careers. Cash prizes and more will be awarded. Arts Council of Greater Lansing announces it's upcoming smARTS Workshop, "What Does an Arts Council Membership Look Like?" facilitated by Arts Council membership and program manager, Taylor Haslett. Lansing Poetry Club  announces The Poets Roundtable-- a day of free writing workshops, plus an Open Mic and Authors' Alley in which local authors display recent publications.
