Washington County Free Library Announces

2024 Children’s Bookmark Contest

with “Adventure Begins at Your Library” Theme

Washington County Free Library is once again collecting entries for the annual Bookmark Contest! Children ages 5-12 are invited to design original bookmarks for the 2024 Summer Reading Club theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” between March 1 and March 31, 2024.

Entrants must live in Washington County or have a WCFL library card. Families can pick up a contest entry design form at their local branch library or download the entry form at washcolibrary.org

Children are encouraged to use crayons, markers, and colored pencils to create original designs! No computer-generated art, tracings, or copyrighted images, please.

Bookmarks submitted to any WCFL location by March 31, 2024 will be judged based on originality, design, and reproducibility. The winning bookmarks from each age category (ages 5-6, ages 7-8, ages 9-10, and ages 11-12) will be printed and available in all Washington County Free Library branches by mid-April for all library visitors to enjoy.

“Adventure Begins at Your Library” and we can’t wait to see what adventures you want to explore with us in your bookmark designs!

For more information, please visit washcolibrary.org, call 301-739-3250, or visit your local library.
