When I was young in the 1960's and 70's, I loved how-to-draw children's books. My absolute favorite was a series of books by Ed Emberley. I still have my little collection and actually refer it to from time to time. Emberley showed how to create animals, trains, buildings, monsters, castles and more by combining simple shapes. His step-by-step method was so much fun that I knew art was something I would always want in my life. Whenever I meet a kid who wants to learn to draw or an adult is looking for the perfect gift for a budding artist, I always recommend these books! Try it - you will become an Ed Emberley fan too! |
