Many Artful Buzz members love to learn about art through our in-person events and webinars. Also avid readers, there is a constant need to find every book they can on all art-related subjects. Some prefer to learn about artists through biographies and autobiographies, while others prefer the historical fiction and novel route. It is so exciting when you get immersed in a story, although there are times (especially in the art world) when the truth is stranger than fiction!
I recently presented a webinar in which I compiled a customized list of 50 artful books (either a favorite of mine or highly recommended by an Artful Buzz member). In this 90 minute virtual program, I shared information about each book, along with related background stories and juicy tidbits. An independent Long Island bookstore, Theodore's Books, has just collaborated with me so now everyone can have access to some of the titles on the list and perhaps purchase books online or in-person at their store. This charming shop, founded in 2021 by former Congressman Steve Israel, is located in historic Oyster Bay, the same area where American President Teddy Roosevelt resided at Sagamore Hill (also known as the Summer White House).
