Trinity Arts Council and Chamber of Commerce invites Artists to participate in a fun project that will create the artwork for the Weaverville Car Show Art Auction,August 15, 2015.   


 

The June show at the Chamber consists of about 40 photos that artists can sign-up to recreate.  The challenge is to interpret the artist's photographs using imagination and whatever media one chooses; ceramic, found objects, paint, mosaic, fabric, multi-media, or whatever.  They can be 3D such as garden art.


 

During the month of June and July, artists can request a copy of the photo(s) they would like to "recreate" either from the Chamber, by e-mail request at 1jillrichards@gmail.com, or by calling the Trinity County Arts Council at 530-623-2760.  


 

Finished artistic interpretations and the photos will be displayed at the Car Show "Show & Shine" on Friday August 14 and at the Car Show in Lee Fong Park where the art will be auctioned with 50% of the sale to the artist.  The Public will be invited to select a "People's Choice" honoring the Most Imaginative Recreation.  


 

This promises to be lots of fun and rewarding for the artists.

The Art will be on display at the Car Show "Show & Shine" under canopy in the Tops Parking Lot, Friday, August 14.  

The Art will be auctioned at the Car Show in Lee Fong Park, Saturday, August 15.

50% of the sale of the art goes to the artists / 50% to a charity or non-profit.

RULES:

1.  Select one/more photographs to recreate in the media of your choice.

 

2.  We will provide a photocopy or email you a copy of the photographs.

 

3.  Sign the sheet (or email Jill) providing your Name and Contact information so that we can remind you of the Car Show  installation date.

 

4.  We will collect the art at the Trinity County Chamber of Commerce August 1-10th.   All art must be hangable or designed to be set on a table.  We will have a sheet for you to fill out upon delivery to the Chamber.

 

5.  Art exhibited for the Weaverville Car Show Auction will be displayed under canopy at the "Show & Shine" Friday in the Tops parking lot and at the Car Show in Lee Fong Park.  We will include you on our e-blast so that you can send an email invitation to your friends and family.  It should be great fun.  The buyers are more eager to drive up the price if they meet the artists.

 

Requirements for ART:  

            A) All Media Accepted: Painting, Fabric Art, Found Art, Mosaic, Materials from Nature, Mixed Media, Jewelry, etc.

** Photographic Digital Recreation NOT ACCEPTED for copyright reasons.

 

            B)  Art to be displayed on walls must have wire hangers. 


 

            C)  Art to be displayed on tables:  IF the artist offers a display stand, we can use it to display the art, ie: floor standing jewelry stands or stands for scarves, purses etc. the art may look better and garner a higher price.

           

            D)  Art must be labeled with Name of Artist, Title of Piece, Media, and Suggested Price.
