ART AFTER DARK: COME AS YOU AREN'T
Friday, October 26
7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Bring your best alter ego to OMA's annual Halloween event, Art After Dark: Come As You Aren't. Inspired by the exhibition YOU: Investigating Identity, guests are encouraged to dress as their own altered identities for an artful evening featuring music by The Creepy Creeps and DJ Danny Massure, a haunted staircase by David Ghilarducci, the exhibition opening of The Beauty in the Beast: Crafting Creatures by Neville Page with special appearance by the artist, live art by Michael Summers and Mark Richmond, body painting demonstrations, performances by Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Zbrush creature projections and more. Costumed guests will have the opportunity to enter the costume contest with the chance to win up to $1,000 in prizes.
Tickets, including an open bar featuring craft beer by Latitude 33, specialty wine, delicious appetizers and desserts, are $20 for OMA members and $30 for nonmembers. Visit www.oma-online.org or call (760) 435-3721 for reservations, or get your tickets at the door the night of the event. OMA welcomes guests 21+ to Art After Dark.

Neville Page is internationally recognized for his character and creature design in numerous films such as James Cameron's Avatar (2009) and J.J. Abram's Star Trek (2009). His ability to create mythical anatomy, believable surface detail and personality through his drawings allows the audience to identify with the character and immerse itself in an alternate reality. The Beauty in the Beast: Crafting Creatures by Neville Page presents original designs from blockbuster films he has worked on such as Prometheus (2012), Super 8 (2011), Green Lantern (2011) and Tron (2010), among others, showcasing Page's use of traditional media as well as digital tools such as Photoshop and Zbrush to create fantastic creatures and exotic characters. Featuring early pencil sketches to final digital concepts and 3D models, this exhibition will explore Page's complex developmental design progress.
