This is a great way to donate an item for the auction which will be shipped directly to us. Do you have a product or service you would like to promote or would you like to personally provide a gift or gift card for the silent auction? This is a great way to showcase your products, services or create a fun package to donate. Foundation Board Feature - Richard McPherson
To say that Richard McPherson is a strong supporter of FFA, is an understatement. When it comes to why Richard serves on the Arizona FFA Foundation Board he declared: “To secure funding to sustain, grow, and develop opportunities for the affiliates we serve; Arizona Association FFA, Arizona Agriculture Teachers Association, Arizona FFA Alumni, and the UA CALS Agriculture Education, Technology & Innovation Department.”

Richard graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree and a masters in Agriculture Education. Richard teaches at Rio Rico High School. His passion for preparing students to become our leaders of tomorrow, is clearly reflected in his school projects which include Food for All, Nutrients for Life, School Based Enterprises, Precision Agriculture, and Agricultural Literacy.

We asked Richard, where he grew up? “I haven't really grown up but spent my formative years in Prescott, Arizona,” he stated. Throughout his professional life Richard has received numerous industry recognitions, most recently the Carl Perkins Community Service Teacher Award. Support for FFA is paramount to Richard, as he tells us: “FFA provides opportunities for school-based agriculture education students a chance to investigate, embrace, and develop premier leadership skills. Without funding to; recruit college students to major in Agriculture Education and scholarships to help them become teachers, retain and grow our Agriculture Teacher population through professional development, program evaluation instruments, professional networking to keep them in the classroom, build and grow our alumni support through chapter development, and providing training, workshops, conferences, camps with Leadership and Career Development Events, proficiency awards, and scholarships, Arizona FFA members would have no opportunities to investigate, embrace, and develop premier leadership skills.”
We are incredibly grateful to Richard for his dedication to the Arizona youth’s education, and outstanding leadership within the agriculture community.
Seeds for Tomorrow
Did you know you can set up an endowment through the Arizona Agricultural Education/FFA Foundation to help support a scholarship program, career development event, teacher professional development and much more? Making a major or planned gift is a way to make a difference in the lives of young people for generations to come.

It is really easy to establish an endowment to leave a legacy. For more information please contact Rochell Planty at 602-705-9211 or Rochell@azffafoundation.org.
