More than 1,500 FFA members gathered February 24-25 at the University of Arizona to compete in the 2023 annual Spring Conference.
This event is home to 21 state level Career Development Events. Some of those events include Ag Business, Ag Sales, Agronomy, Aquaculture, Forestry, Horse Evaluation, Nursery/Landscape, Job Interview, Livestock Evaluation, Meats Evaluation, Range Management, Entomology, Soils, Agricultural Mechanics, Dairy Evaluation, Floriculture, Food Science, Milk Quality and Products, Poultry Evaluation, Tool ID (greenhand & advanced) and Veterinary Science. Students are challenged to develop critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills, foster teamwork and promote communication while recognizing the value of ethical competition and individual achievement. Students work all year to compete each spring.
Arizona FFA members from across the state competed in their regional Career Development Events to prepare for the state contest. The state winning teams for the nationally recognized contests will advance to the National FFA Convention the end of October to compete.
This event could not occur without the partnership through the University of Arizona, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Hundreds of volunteers from the university, teachers, alumni, and industry representatives serve as chairs for the events, judges and volunteer in other ways, to produce this annual event. We are grateful for the many sponsors that support the Spring Conference.
