A Message from our Chief Executive Officer

As I write this, it is 20 degrees outside and the ground is covered with several inches of new snow. And yet... Welcome to Archway's April's newsletter! And let's hope actual spring comes soon!

In the meantime, our focus this month is on Fair Housing, a subject that is near and dear to our hearts at Archway.

This month you'll hear from our Fountain Ridge resident, Glenn Horton, who speaks with Jasmine Salguero, about his experience of finding his home with us.

You'll hear from Nancy Fabrizi, one Archway's longest tenured staff, to learn about the process of obtaining affordable housing.

Katie McKenna shares excerpts from a piece she wrote regarding the connections between justice and housing which was published in "Is this The City We Imagined?" about Denver.

Q & A with Nancy Fabrizi!

When I began working for an affordable housing provider, I found it necessary to educate myself on the terminology and processes that exist in this world. In addition, I have found that Archway’s prospective residents, blog and social media followers, and donors all have questions about what affordable housing is and how they can learn more. To gain more knowledge, I sat down with Nancy Fabrizi, Archway’s Director of Property Compliance, to get the answers to basic questions that we field every day from people seeking housing.

We've turned this Q & A into a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for prospective residents, to make it easier to get basic information they need and I am happy to report that we've already heard from people visiting it!

Resident Spotlight

Glenn Horton, Fountain Ridge Resident

Glenn Horton has been a Fountain Ridge resident since 2019. He found housing through Archway Communities in the nick of time before becoming unhoused. He has been through a lot with a job loss because of COVID, but was able to access renter's assistance, and is now thriving!

Glenn really enjoys being a part of the vibrant, healthy community in Fountain and participates in many of the community activities organized by the Archway team.

Glenn talks to Jasmine Salguero in this impromptu interview about his experience at Archway Communities.

Annie Bresnahan, the Supportive Services Coordinator at Flat at Two Creeks is always keeping her residents busy. This month is no exception, from cooking an sharing a meal together to playing giant Jenga and decorating cookies together Flats at Two Creeks embodies the spirit of community!
