Caterpillar Lab Returns

The Caterpillar Lab returns to the Arboretum for three days packed with caterpillar displays, free-exploration programming, digital microscopes, and experienced educators on hand to give you insights into these amazing animals. Bring your students for a fascinating look at the diversity of caterpillars!
Abilities Dance Boston

The Ponds, Arnold Arboretum
Join Abilities Dance Boston as it shines in the Arboretum landscape. The trailblazing company will bring original musical scores, choreography, audio descriptions, ASL, and CART to make the work accessible in the spirit of universal design enjoyed by all. Resources for Teachers
Data literacy for K0-K2
This app allows teachers and preschoolers to work with data and quickly and easily create graphs and tally charts. Children are encouraged to engage in a “data talk” to discuss what the data means.
Podcast for elementary students
Most appropriate for ages 6-12, the podcast engages students and adults in exploring the challenges facing our planet with scientists, youth activists, and other environmental leaders who have experienced the realities of the climate crisis firsthand. Each episode runs 20- to 30-minutes long and addresses a different topic.
Climate science research for middle school students
Our Beautiful Planet is a series of compelling 5-7 minute science films highlighting the cutting-edge research that climate scientists are doing to solve some of the world’s most pressing issues. Comes with lesson plans that highlight practices of scientists and natural phenomena.
Soil and carbon cycle for high school students
What is the relationship between soil and the Earth’s atmosphere? Students will explore the connection between what happens below and above the ground. They will learn about the vital role soil plays in the carbon cycle.
