Sarah's Space

Dear ACC,

I was catching up with one of my best friends from the Chicagoland area this past week, and they shared with me that their church will be furnishing a home for an unhoused family, and that their congregation wants to continue providing support for folks experiencing housing insecurity . They asked if I knew of any organizations that may be able to offer additional support. I immediately shared with them the contact information for Family Promise Chicago North Shore.

The North Shore location is an affiliate of Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis - the Family Promise our congregation faithfully supports each year. The North Shore location is also one of over 200 Family Promise affiliates across 43 states.

This week and next week, Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis is fundraising for Night Without a Bed, their largest fundraiser for the year. Read on for how to get involved with this year's campaign, and thank you for your continued commitment to housing justice in Indianapolis.

We are in this work together!

With care,

Sarah

Family Promise's 5th Annual Night Without A Bed Campaign - Donate, Cookout & Sleepout, and more!

Night Without A Bed is the primary fundraising campaign to support Family Promise's Apartment Shelter Program--a model birthed in Indianapolis in the pandemic that now has spread to at least twenty other cities.

Raising more than $200,000 each of the last four years, it has helped more than 500 families have a place to stay after eviction, job loss, sickness, and more.

Family Promise believes in keeping every family together through its crisis, regardless of the makeup of the family. Not only that, but ever since the pandemic they keep families together in an innovative shelter model that leases and furnishes apartments through donations (thanks to dozens of congregation and corporate partners). Families can move right in the same day they call for help if there is an opening! As one of Indianapolis leading homeless shelters, they have helped more than 2,000 unhoused families sign leases on places of their own! Thank you for considering a gift today that helps fund their Apartment Shelter Program in 2024.
