April at CRCG

“The deep roots never doubt spring will come.” ~ Marty Rubin

April is Canine Fitness Month

Keeping your dog active and fit will improve their quality of life and keep them with you for longer! Staying active with your dog also provides an opportunity to strengthen the emotional bond between people and pets. It's a win-win!

You don't need special equipment to get started (or at all!). Spring is a great time to get outside with your dog! It can be as simple as grabbing the leash and heading outside for a walk with your best friend.

Swimming is also a great option, if your dog is willing and physically able. Our freshwater indoor swimming pools offer a clean, safe option to exercise your dog. We're open 7 days a week and we offer group and private swim sessions.

Looking for something more tailored? Our Total Dog program can provide what you're looking for. Give us a call at 303-762-7946 to set up a Total Dog Assessment at our Broomfield location.

See below for more ideas to get started!

Get stepping!

One foot in front of the other, and both you and your furry friend will benefit from the fresh air.

Engage in active play.

Toss a ball, stick, or frisbee in a secure area, or even better – sprint or jog alongside your pet to fetch it.

Challenge your pet's mind with a game of hide and seek for their daily treats. Stash them behind doors, beneath bowls, and under chairs. Or try this muffin tin activity!

The muffin tin game

Turn mealtime into a fitness game.

Place an unstable object in front of the food bowl to incorporate balance and limb-strengthening activities into a fun game.

Elevate the floor.

Adding a platform for your pet to climb on or crawl under during the day can introduce movement when space is limited and the weather is unfavorable.

Short on time?

Enlist the help of a Dog Walker to ensure your dog gets the recommended 20-30 minutes of activity each day.

Looking for more of a challenge? Check out the video below! You may recognize a familiar face or two while you're at it.

CRCG is turning 20!

CRCG incorporated in 2004 and opened our doors in early 2005. It's time to celebrate! We have some fun things in store for the next year and we're excited to share them with you. Keep an eye on the newsletter and our social media for the latest.

Pawnix Noise Canceling Headphones for dogs

With Spring comes thunderstorms, followed by the 4th of July. If your dog is sensitive to loud noises, we've personally had luck with Pawnix Noise Canceling Headphones for dogs. They are not cheap, and your dog can't be left alone while wearing them, so they won't be a solution for everyone. They have worked like a charm for our dogs and they actually sleep (and snore!) through thunderstorms. We don't carry these but want to pass along information in case it can help someone out there.

As a reminder, we do carry Composure Pro Advanced and Calmer Canine Loops.

Composure™ Pro Advanced is 1.5x stronger than Composure™ Pro. It also boasts an additional calming ingredient - Bluenesse® lemon balm extract - not found in Composure™ Pro and other Composure™ supplements. Both of these products are recommended for dogs and cats who require support for serious behavioral and cognitive problems.

Calmer Canine works by sending microcurrents of targeted pulsed electromagnetic (tPEMF) signals to the brain. These tPEMF signals were specifically developed by a team of veterinarians and neurobiologists to target the anxiety center in the brain.
