Baby Blue Eyes (Nemophila menziesii) has been declared the official city flower. Known for its delicate, bright blue petals and yellow centers, the California native flower can be found along the American River and other areas throughout our community. While supplies last, visit Rancho Cordova City Hall Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM to pick up your free seed sheet of Baby Blue Eyes. Learn more

City Awarded $1 Million in Federal Funding for Mather Veterans Village Phase 4

Mather Veterans Village, permanent supportive housing for homeless and disabled veterans, is now on its way to expanding from 150 units to an additional 70 units for very low-income homeless veterans thanks to $1 million in federal funding. Learn more

Chase Drive and American River Parkway Connection

A multi-use path will be added to Chase Drive from Coloma Road to the American River Parkway. Planned improvements include a separated pathway with new lighting, ADA-compliant curb ramps, high-visibility crosswalks, trees, landscaping and more. The project is funded by a grant and expected to start this summer. Learn more

Recycle your food waste each week in your green organics waste cart. Food waste includes items scraped from your plate after you eat, food items discarded while preparing meals and food-soiled paper items, like pizza boxes, coffee filters and napkins. Learn more

Bike Ride and Tree Tour at Hagan Community Park

Free Pet Identification Tags Available for Residents

The city's Animal Services team is dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership within the community. Free services include pet ID tags that are engraved and mailed to your home. Learn more

Free Rabies Vaccine and Microchip Clinic

The city is hosting a FREE rabies vaccine and microchip clinic for pets of Rancho Cordova residents on Saturday, May 18. Appointments are required, and you must bring proof that you are a Rancho Cordova resident. Sign up

Animal Services Seeking Donations for Spring and Summer

Help lost, stray and wild animals stay safe and comfortable while in care by donating pet food and kitten formulas, leashes, harnesses and clean towels or blankets to the city's Animal Services Division. Learn more

Apply for City's Community Pride Scholarship

Apply now through Friday, April 5 at 5 PM for the city's 2024 annual Pride Scholarship, which awards $500 scholarships to two Rancho Cordova high school seniors who demonstrate pride in their community, volunteerism and ambition to succeed.

RCPD Cracks Down on Underage Drinking

Rancho Cordova Police Department joined law enforcement officers nationwide for an effort to stop adults from buying alcohol for youth. As part of National Shoulder Tap Day on March 9, RCPD officers visited seven locations and issued two citations. Learn more

Deputy Sariah Loudon Named Employee of the Year

In addition to being named Employee of the Year, Deputy Loudon was also presented with a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Public Servant award. Deputy Loudon has successfully worked to build positive relationships and bonds between youth and law enforcement. Learn more

High School Seniors Can Apply for Local Scholarships



  • Dennis Gray Scholarship – This $300 scholarship will be awarded to a Rancho Cordova high school senior who plays a concert band instrument. The winner will also be invited to perform with the Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band. The deadline to apply is April 20.
  • Rancho Cordova Sustainability Scholarship – Republic Services is awarding three graduating seniors in Rancho Cordova a $1,000 scholarship. The deadline to apply is April 30.

Fire Camp is a four-day summer program that shows middle school-aged kids (11-13) what it's like to be a firefighter for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Learn more

34th Annual Kids Day and International Festival & Wines of the World


  • Kids Day in the Park returns to Hagan Community Park on Saturday, April 27, with a "Super Science" theme. This FREE event is geared toward families with children 12 and under.
  • iFest & Wines of the World will take place at Village Green Park on Saturday, May 11. This festival celebrates ethnic diversity within the community, featuring art, music, dance, international food and children's activities. Festival admission is FREE and tickets for Wines of the World are available for purchase.
