On the steps of the state house Thursday morning, child care advocates like Patty Sinclair of Rutland stood shoulder to shoulder with Senate Democrats advocating for the Senate’s child care bill.

“Today, I'm filled with hope because it provides the levers for higher compensation and benefits for teachers affordability and access for a family who is needing child care. It provides stable funding for our providers and it provides financial relief for businesses,” said Patty Sinclair, President of Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children Association for the Education for Young Children.”

“Today is a win for us for us.”

Sinclair and others spoke about the need for affordable child care to boost the economy, but for accessible early childhood education to get kids set up for school.

What a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Massachusetts visit from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Thank you to Strategies for Children, who coordinated

the logistics for the event.

National early childhood leaders Mark Day, Nanette Lawson,

Naomi Dillon, and Carolyn Lyons displayed incredible warmth and thoughtful questions.

We continue to be amazed by their dedication to listening and learning. It is always a joy to be among fellow

Massachusetts early childhood leaders Tom Weber, Lauren Cook, Gloria Valentin-Denson, Donna Denette, and Jade Oliver. Their passion and dedication to high-quality programs for children, families, and educators continue to inspire our work.
