April 2021
Spring has sprung and the sun is shining at Maywood Fine Arts! There is so much going on: art mural projects, the classical ballet release, a piano competition, new class openings, and so much more!
Coming to a Live-Stream Near You!
Our Classical Ballet for New Audiences was a huge success this year with our production of Le Corsaire. This year we filmed the ballet and it premiered at 2 different theaters. It was so much fun to see the ballet on the big screen. If you missed your chance to see it, you are in luck! We will be sending out links for you to view the entire ballet on April 5th. Watch for the link in your inbox!
Art Mural Project Update
We invited kids from the community and students from MFA to participate in a special art mural project. Most recently, everyone got to add their own flair into a mosaic tile masterpiece that will be part of the finished project. It is so much fun and we can't wait to share the completed mural with everyone this summer!
NEW Tumbling Class Opening
We have opened an additional tumbling class to address social distancing as well as new student demand. There is currently space for new tumbling students ages 6-8 on Mondays from 7:15 to 8:15 pm. Visit maywoodfinearts.org for additional class times and register!
Classical Ballet for New Audiences
Since we were not able to have a live ballet this year, we partnered with our local school district and held virtual interactive workshops for all the 3rd & 4th grade classes. Special guest artist teachers participated in 46 zoom classes to bring the magic of ballet to the students.
Piano Competition 2021
We are thrilled to be able to continue our in-house piano competitions on Saturday, April 3rd from 3-7 pm. We have made a few changes and are not allowing a live audience, but we will stream it live for families and fans to check out the competition. The judges are ready to rule, but everyone that competes is a winner!
Le Tour de Shore
There are still a few spots left for Le Tour de Shore! We are so excited to get back on our bikes to ride 100 miles for the kids at MFA! We are following all local gathering guidelines and can't wait to ride with you!
