Hello MMAMTA members,
Spring is here ...with a lot of pollens! It is the ultimate concert month, and 2019 line-up does not disappoint. Be sure to catch some or all of the events your colleagues are performing and/or producing - Go with your students, and inspire their imagination!
It was a busy month of March filled with Federation auditions, Plowman master classes, tons of academic deadlines and tests followed by a thankful Spring Break. A heartfelt thanks to all the organizers and volunteers, who did a superb job of making sure everything worked smoothly.
Good luck this Saturday, to those students and teachers auditioning for the MMAMTA Scholarship Auditions in Jefferson City. These students are eligible up to $2000 total. If you missed this year's audition, consider entering next year; the scholarship is good for both summer music camps and graduating seniors who will major
or minor
in music. There is no make-up date; opportunities go to the students who prioritize this musical event.
Some important dates to remember:
For those of you who participate in the National Guild of Piano Teachers auditions:
- May 15-17 [Wed-Fri]: Houser, Gillam & Larvick studios. Jefferson City chair: Jan Houser.
- May 15-18 [Wed-Sat] First Baptist Church in Columbia. Chairs: Nancy Dreier, Chris Vitt
