April is Financial Literacy Month

REACH YOUR FULL FINANCIAL CAPABILITY

A lot goes into small business success — hard work, vision, and resourcefulness. But perhaps nothing can help an entrepreneur achieve and maintain success more than a sound understanding of their finances. As the U.S. economy moves beyond recovery, financial literacy has never been more important.

Financial Literacy Month encourages all Americans — and the small business community in particular — to learn about best practices for improving their financial well-being. It’s also a reminder to establish or revisit overall financial projections and goals. Maybe you’re interested in obtaining a loan. AEDC is here to help!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The AEDC Board of Directors held its Annual Meeting in Saranac Lake on March 16th. The board said goodbye and a huge thank you for 16 years of service to Barbara Criss of Old Forge. Barbara retired from Community Bank and served on AEDCs Board twice and for many years on its Lending and Governance committees.

Also at the annual meeting, the organization thanked long-serving Board Chair Wayne Thomas of North Creek, for his incredible service as Chair. Wayne spent most of his career with the Internal Revenue Service. AEDC welcomes new Chair of the Board Rob Aiken of Watertown. Rob works at Aubertine Currier Architects also in Watertown.

New Board Member

At its annual meeting, AEDC welcomed Cedric Carter from TD Bank to its Board of Directors. The organization is thrilled to add his regional financial and community expertise to the Board.

Welcome, Cedric!
