April is Here!!!

Wow, where in the world did the first quarter of this year go? Can you believe that we are already into April? Thankfully the days are getting longer and we are able to enjoy some much needed sun and warmer weather. Our team was gathered together last week for our weekly team meeting and it was very entertaining to hear about all of the fun things that several of the team members had done the past couple of weeks including golfing, gardening, 4-wheeling in the mountains, raising baby chicks and the youngest member of our team, Kenzie, did a hike to the top of Mt. Garfield. Everyone was in a great mood with broad smiles and ready to tackle the week ahead. We are so fortunate to live here in Western Colorado!

The Shafer Team just made the announcement that we are giving away FREE tickets to the Home Improvement and Remodeling Expo at the Grand Junction Convention Center. We would like to invite everyone that would like to attend to give us a call or send us an email and we will gladly send you out some tickets or there is a link below in the newsletter that you can click on to request tickets. You are also welcome to stop by our office at 131 North 6th Street, Suite 200 and pick them up directly from us. The tickets also include the Builder Open House Tour. The dates are April 26 – 28.

The other part of our weekly discussion was how much the market has picked up recently. The phones are ringing and we have Buyers and Sellers alike that are anxious to get started. In addition, we have had several calls from homeowners requesting a Market Analysis on their property. These are very valuable for any homeowner. You can assess your insurance coverage, leverage your equity for home improvements or to possibly look at reinvestment in another property. As I have said before, this is one of the largest and most important purchases that you will ever make. It only makes sense to protect and nurture your investment. The Market Analysis that we provide are complimentary to all of our clients, friends, family members, etc. They are a professional assessment of the value of your property. Give us a call today and we will gladly put together a valuation for your property.

Cheers!

Happy April!

It’s officially spring, So it is time to get outside and have some fun. I love this time of year because you have all sorts of different weather and all of the plants are starting to bloom after a long, cold winter. It is time to get out into the great outdoors. In this month’s article, I will be giving you some fun ideas to kick off April.

First, a barbeque! Barbeques are a great way to gather with friends and family to talk, engage in yard games, and eat some delicious food. This is an activity that anyone can do and one of my personal favorites to do before it gets too hot. Here is a list of GJ City Parks, a great location for that spring BBQ!

Second, sports! This is a fun way to stay active and have lots of fun doing it. There are many options like beach volleyball, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, and pickleball. Sports are a great way to learn teamwork and communication skills that can benefit your daily life. Plus, it’s fun to win! For all things athletic, GJ Sports Commission, or if you are looking for more Outdoor Recreation.

Third, gardening and planting. Gardening is a good hobby to have especially in spring! Gardening can be relaxing and quite therapeutic for some people. It helps the Earth in so many ways! You can also get food from your garden providing fresh and healthy ingredients for your kitchen. A few favorite local spots for all things gardening are Bookcliff Gardens, Okagawa Farms, Meadowlark Garden Center, and Mt. Garfield Nursery.

I hope you enjoy this month, it is going to be a lot of fun! So gather with loved ones, play a sport, or pick up a new hobby during the blooming of spring! If you are looking for more ideas, Visit Grand Junction is always a great resource, to view more Springtime Grand Junction Activities.

See you next month!

Flower Pretzel Bites

This pretzel snack recipe combines salty, crunchy pretzels with sugar and sweet chocolate for an irresistible combination. Plus, they look like little flowers, so they’re the perfect spring snack, right? I like this pretzel snack recipe because it’s quick and controllable. What I mean is I can make as few or as many flower bites as I’d like without too much fuss.
