Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue
Our grassroots movement to rescue excess perishable food to feed the hungry is growing!
Food Rescue Milestone Reached
New Food Donors Partner with Saving Grace
Fresh vegetables
1.5 million pounds!

That's the total amount of healthy perishable food Saving Grace has rescued and distributed to feed those in need here in our community since we began operations in October 2013. It's a milestone we reached last month - thanks to the generosity of the Omaha community.

The number of grocery stores, wholesalers, caterers, event venues, schools and other food purveyors that routinely donate excess perishable fresh and prepared food to Saving Grace has increased to 35 with the addition of nine new food donor partners so far in 2017:
  • Brownell-Talbot School
  • Fresh Thyme Market, 132nd and Center
  • Fresh Thyme Market, Lakeside
  • Hy-Vee #1514, Shadowlake
  • Lunchbox Foods
  • Patrick's Market
  • Savor Omaha/Baxter Arena
  • Simple Science Juices
  • Westside Meal Services
The donated dairy products, fruits and vegetables, meats, prepared and packaged meals, and grain products are distributed to 25 local nonprofit partner agencies that serve some of the most challenged seniors, children and families in our community.

Financial support from our donors enables Saving Grace to provide this food pipeline service free of charge to both food donors and food recipients. We need you to help Saving Grace continue to increase the amount of healthy, quality food that feeds the hungry rather than rotting in our landfills. Make a donation today or consider making a monthly contribution.

We appreciate all of the supporters and partners who make our work possible! See a complete list of our food donors and food recipients.
