Lowcountry's First "Certified" Autism Friendly Town


The Town of Mount Pleasant has been designated the Lowcountry’s first “certified” Autism Friendly Town by Just Bee, a local nonprofit created to connect neurodivergent families with their communities. 


In conjunction with Just Bee, the Town is committed to further educating citizens on the signs, symptoms, and best practices for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Harbor Entrepreneur Center Returns to Mount Pleasant

The Harbor Entrepreneurship Center is returning to Mount Pleasant with a 22,000-square-foot facility that will provide a collaborative space to inspire, educate and elevate entrepreneurial organizations, venture capital investment, and innovation.

The HEC in Mount Pleasant will create an entrepreneurial ecosystem for students, veterans, career changers, and businesses to develop new enterprises and ideas to grow here in the Charleston region.

MPPD: Target Zero Challenge Winners

Mount Pleasant Police Department received first place in the 2022 Law Enforcement Target Zero Challenge. Target Zero is the South Carolina Department of Public Safety's initiative to decrease traffic fatalities across the state.


MPPD Officers were recognized for their achievements in DUI enforcement. The first-place award is considered Gold Standard by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Network.

Make a Difference in Our Community

Open Commission Seats


If you're interested in getting involved in the community and have a knack for public service, consider applying for one of our open commission seats. Currently, the  Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee, Historic District Preservation Commission, and the Construction Board of Adjustments are looking for members.

Public Input: Alhambra Hall Improvements

The Town is exploring opportunities for improvements to Alhambra Hall, the playground, and the overall site. The goal is to create a plan to rejuvenate the many features and sites of Alhambra Hall.


The Town of Mount Pleasant is collecting public input for project planning and would like your feedback via a quick and easy single page online survey.

Mark Your Calendars: Spring Events

Blessing of the Fleet


The 36th Annual Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival is this weekend! The free event offers tradition, culture, and family fun. Enjoy a boat parade and ceremonial blessing of the shrimp/fishing fleet, while sampling savory seafood sold by some of Mount Pleasant’s best restaurants and more.


Blessing of the Fleet is on April 30 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Memorial Waterfront Park.

Spring Carnival


The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department is hosting a family-friendly Spring Carnival at the Alhambra Hall Playground. Features of the carnival include a jump castle, bubble show, games, interactive sidewalk chalk artist, a snake demonstration, and Pelican's Snowballs for purchase.


The Spring Carnival is May 4 from 3-5 p.m. at the Alhambra Hall Playground.

Town Hall Lawn Concert


Grab your picnic blankets and chairs and celebrate spring with a relaxing concert at Mount Pleasant Town Hall. The Town and the Village Repertory Co. are pleased to present Sail Away - A glorious musical tribute to the “soft rock” of the mid-1970s to mid-1980s.


The concert is on Sunday, May 7 at 7 p.m. The concert is free, but an EventBrite RSVP is required. Find more information below.
