Shredding Event May 7

paper shredding.jpg

We have scheduled a document paper shredding event for Saturday, May 7 from 8:30 am til 11:30 the Fremont Administration Building. Enter through the highway department at 22376 Erhart Road.

You may bring the equivalent of 3 boxes to shred. Staples and paper clips are fine. The most efficient way is to place your items in a paper grocery bag. No plastic bags. To keep the line moving, you will not be able to exit your car and watch the shredding.

This shredding event is for documents only. Please recycle your coupons, magazines and junk mail with your weekly recycling. They will not be accepted.

Pop your trunk and we will take the items. Do not leave your car.

We will not accept any binders or hanging file folders or electronic items because they catch on fire in the truck. If the truck fills up before 11:30, the event will be over.

We look forward to seeing you and appreciate your patience.

Eco Corner By Jennifer Cameron

Sport fishing is a popular recreational activity around our local township and Lake County waters.  Fremont Township is home to several bodies of water some of which are catch-and-release only which helps to protect and preserve aquatic habitats by maintaining the general ecological balance and specific populations of various fish species.  Before you bait that hook, cast that line, or find that recipe, be sure to investigate and follow all online and on-site posted rules and regulations in areas where keeping your catch may be allowed.  Ensuring the health of our local fisheries requires a commitment to a code of angling ethics such as keeping the watershed clean, properly disposing of monofilament line, avoiding the introduction and/or use of aquatic nuisance species, and helping others to apply sport fishing conservation practices. Finally, don't forget your valid fishing license!
