Jaidin is now part of a new family after being adopted by them on March 18th. NOAS wishes them much happiness as they embark on this new journey together.

NOAS STAFF WEARS BLUE TO SUPPORT CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS MONTH

A child in the United States is abused or neglected every 11 seconds. Sadly, for every instance of child abuse reported, two more are unreported. It is difficult to digest these statistics, which weigh heavily on our hearts. That is why NOAS is committed to reducing child abuse and educating others on how to do the same. For more information on child abuse prevention month, read more.

MEET KAY'LA THE 2024 RISING UP AND MOVING ON RECEIPENT

Kayla came into the Bridges program in 2022 after aging out of foster care, and she finished the program in 2023 due to her turning 21. Kayla is now a proud mother of 2 and doing really well. On April 16, 2024, Kayla was presented with the Rising Up and Moving On Award from Trumbull County Children Services. Kayla was recognized for all of her hard work and success that she has been able to accomplish since emancipating foster care. Kayla was able to invite those she considered to be a part of her support team. Kayla was not only supported by her team at TCCS, but she also asked Miss Chrishyra Whitfield (Bridges Supervisor), whom she stated that she is grateful to have had supporting her in her journey to adulthood. Mrs. Mary Craig, whom she affectionately calls mom, has been with her since the beginning of her foster care journey and would not be where she is today without her. Kayla continues to work hard to be able to support her and her children through working and completing school. She was recently offered a position at Trumbull County Residential. Kayla states that she wants to be an inspiration to show others what is possible. Kayla is excited about her new job and hopes to make a difference. We are very proud of Kayla and wish her nothing but the best.
