Reflecting on Where We've Been with Excitement for What's to Come

This month, Leaders of Today is celebrating six years of empowering Lorain County high school students with tools and resources to promote positive leadership in their classroom and community.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each student, volunteer, donor, and community partner who has contributed to our success as an organization. This work is possible because of you!

This is just the beginning. Our future is bright and we are excited to continue to be the change we wish to see. To help show your support, we invite you to make a donation in celebration of our six year anniversary. Thank you for believing in our mission and championing this important work.

With Gratitude,

Fourth Annual Public Art & Culture Program

In February, the community gathered at the Elyria Arts Council to honor and celebrate this year’s Public Art and Culture Program participants! This was our largest year yet with 20 high school students from Elyria, Lorain, Lorain County Community College (Early College) and Midview. Over 25 pieces of art were submitted and 10 $250 scholarships were awarded!

Thank you to the Elyria Arts Council, the Community Foundation of Lorain County, and the Ohio Arts Council for making this possible!

April is Earth Month

Earth Month takes place during April every year. It's a time to raise environmental awareness and create consciousness around the issues that affect mother nature.

At Leaders of Today, we prioritize taking care of our local environment.

Here are 4 ways you can help keep your community clean:

  1. Lead by example. The number one thing you can do to keep your neighborhood clean is set a litter-free example for others. If you see litter lying around, grab it!
  2. Tie your trash bags. When you put your trash in the cans for pickup, take a moment to tie your bags and secure your lids. This prevents stray pieces of trash from falling out and blowing around your neighborhood.
  3. Resuse. Reuse water bottles, gift bags, plastic containers, and anything else as much as you can!
  4. Get outside. Spending time in your neighborhood can help you love and appreciate it. Start by taking a walk around your community to remind yourself why you love it and why you want to keep it clean!
