TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING!
Spring Greetings!
Mom Nature has definitely thrown a lot of curveballs. Most of us are digging, slogging or otherwise extricating ourselves from the massive storms, snow, rain, and wind. And, while the weather whiplash in the western part of the US has provided a welcome change from severe drought, we still have to look ahead to a fuel-filled summer while still cleaning up from soggy winter and spring.

Our Spring NewsNotes edition is full of info and resources to help you get ready for… whatever!

IN THIS EDITION
  • New Preparedness Education and Emergency Volunteer Program
  • Barn & Ranch Prep Checklist and Safety Packet
  • Rabbit & Chicken Ready-Kit Checklists
  • Upcoming OnLine Trainings & Classes
  • Host an Animal Preparedness Workshop
A big honor for HALTER Project!

We received a wonderful, totally unexpected, award at the recent Sonoma FireSAFE Leadership Summit!

Just being invited to participate in this exciting, stimulating (and fun) event was, in itself, an honor. To be recognized and share the stage with an inspiring group of community preparedness leaders quadrupled the honor.

And, to receive the stunning glass sculpture from CalFire Chief Ben Nichols and local Battalion Chiefs was definitely the icing on the cake. The Leadership Summit gave the 90+ attendees opportunities to connect (IN PERSON!), network, exchange notes and share resources. We were treated to fantastic presentations, workshops, and a great lunch, (with huge bowls of Straus ice cream!)

While we’ve received some humbling and validating recognition from national and international agencies and organizations, this was a first for us in our “home county”, and a fantastic boost to our tenth year of service.

Thank you, FireSAFE Sonoma, and CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, for honoring us with a first-ever FireSAFE Sonoma Outstanding Community Leadership Award.
