Buncombe Adult Day Services

Update: A New Home for MountainCare

We're excited to share that our Buncombe facilities have a new home at First Baptist Church in downtown Asheville! We're extremely grateful to the church for responding to our critical need for a new space by welcoming us into their community. MountainCare's administrative offices and the Mountain Explorers program relocated the fourth floor of the church on March 18th, and our main Adult Day Program will make the move over the summer.

More details about moving Adult Day will be shared as they become available. MountainCare plans to host a town-hall style meeting in May to answer specific questions about the relocation process and our new space.

Caregiver Support Group Meetings: April 3rd and April 17th from 3:30-5:00 PM. A guest speaker will be talking about the various types of Dementia on April 3rd. Our meeting spot inside the program is yet to be determined. Please look for an email prior to the meeting with our location. It will still be at MountainCare on Sweeten Creek.

For those of you who are new to the group, if your loved one attends MountainCare but Wednesday is not their normal day, you may still bring them with you and drop them off in the program while you attend the meeting. Just give us a heads up so we know to expect them. Please drop them off no earlier than 3:15. Please note, we will not administer any medication to your loved one, so if they receive medication during the time you are in the meeting you may step out to come administer it to them yourself.
