Resources from Mrs. Garner, School Counselor
Due to the recent tragedy in Nashville, I would like to share a resource that may be helpful.
Helping Children with Tragic Events in the News
Please contact me if you have specific questions or concerns for your child(ren).
I would also ask that you join our school community in the prayer below.
Lord, we pray for those who have been devastated by recent tragedies. We remember those who have lost their lives so suddenly. We hold in our hearts the families forever changed by grief and loss. Bring them consolation and comfort. Surround them with our prayers for strength. Bless those who have survived and heal their memories of trauma and devastation. May they have the courage to face the days ahead.
Help us to respond with generosity in prayer, in assistance, and in comfort to the best of our abilities. Keep our hearts focused on the needs of all the community. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Dear Parents,
Your children are coming home with a bracelet medal of St. Benedict as an Easter gift. The students have learned what these medals mean, however, we also wanted to provide that information to you. It has been a tradition to wear the medal of St. Benedict for many years in the Catholic Church. Each part of the medal has meaning. St. Benedict's lived from 480AD to 543AD. In Montecassino, Italy, he set up the monastery that became the root's of the Church's monastic system. He wrote The Rule of St. Benedict, which is still directing religious life after 15 centuries. Wearing this medal is a ward against Satan and the fallen angels encroaching evil. It stands for the power of prayer in times of temptation and suffering. We, at St. Peter's, hope that you all have a very blessed Easter!
