A Message from Our Director of College Counseling | |
|
Dear Carondelet Community,
As the year comes to an end, it’s easy to forget how far our students have come since August. From all of the classroom learning to the sports competition, theater and musical performances, art shows, leadership and retreat programs, service experiences… our students have done A LOT. From each of these experiences, our students have grown as students and as young women.
For our seniors, we are not just looking back on how far they have come this year, but throughout all of their years at Carondelet. On May 1, College Counseling will be celebrating their futures by hosting our annual Senior Celebration. Students should stop by College Counseling to grab a treat, decorate a star for the senior bulletin board, and mingle with their peers and counselors.
Although we will be celebrating the seniors throughout the next month, teachers and students are also readying themselves for final exams and AP tests. Given that numerous colleges grant class credit with passing AP scores, it's important for students to diligently study and come prepared for these exams.
And speaking of coming prepared, the week following final exams, juniors will be returning to campus for College Kickstart! College counselors cover a lot during the four day college application bootcamp, so students should come prepared to work hard. Yet, their dedication will pay off, as they'll acquire the tools needed to navigate college applications throughout the summer and fall.
For other grade levels, if you are eager to begin looking into colleges, check out the Schoology College Hub and Maia Learning, our new college planning platform.
Congratulations to our seniors as they make their final decisions regarding their post-high school plans, and best of luck to everyone as we push through to the end of the school year.
All the best,
Allison Bly
Director of College Counseling
