Temporary Bay Trail Closure for Levee Erosion Repair in Redwood Shores; Alternative Walking Path Available

We are temporarily closing a section of the Bay Trail along Bridge Parkway in Redwood Shores due to observed levee erosion. The map below shows the location, with the temporary closure shown in red as well as an alternative walking path in green.

While staff works on stabilization efforts, the alternative path along Bridge Parkway may be utilized.

Traffic Advisory: One-Way Traffic Control on Maple Street Overcrossing Across US 101 Due to Bridge Work

As part of the continuing construction work on the Maple Street overcrossing, Caltrans is conducting one-way traffic control of westbound Maple Street overcrossing. Westbound signalized one-way traffic control will be in place until mid-June when traffic control will shift to eastbound direction.

Maple Street overcrossing will remain open to pedestrians during construction with one sidewalk available.

Community Workshop on the Redwood City Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Planning Study on May 8

Please join us for the Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Planning Study workshop on Wednesday, May 8, from 1-3 p.m. at Redwood City Public Works!

To help our community address increasing flood and sea level rise threats due to climate change, the City has prepared a Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Planning Study. This Study is an initial assessment meant to provide the foundation for future Sea Level Rise Plan that will include a more in-depth adaptation measures, strategies, and community’s desired futures and goals.

The focus of the May 8 workshop is on presenting and finalizing the initial assessment of the City’s existing vulnerabilities, future risk from sea level rise, and exploration on high-level adaptation options. We will conduct additional community meetings in the future during the next phase of adaptation planning for Redwood City.

The presentation portion of the meeting will be recorded. For better engagement we encourage the community to attend in-person, but the workshop is also available virtually via Zoom. For questions regarding the workshop and the study, please email: SeaLevelRiseStudy@redwoodcity.org.

Light refreshments will be provided.
