From the Clubhouse
Hi Everyone
Lots of things going on at the club this spring! We've finally gotten the heating units installed and running, and they're keeping the buildings at a steady temperature throughout the day and evening--morningtimes are when the biggest difference can be noticed. This should be a great thing for the club in future winters. By the time you read this, we should be through the final inspections and our vendors should be paid. Remember, no loans, assessments, or dues raises were necessary to finance this project! Also on the facility side of things, we're looking at some recurring projects that we'll be undertaking this summer, including re-staining the wood siding on courts 1-3 and the clubhouse, restaining the deck, tying up the last sliver of roof insulation on court 1, and resurfacing courts 1-3.
It's also the time of year that we start getting the outdoor courts ready to play for the spring/summer/fall seasons. As soon as the last of the winter weather looks to be past us, we'll clean the outdoor courts and hang the windscreens so they'll be ready for play.
On the programming side, we're looking at introducing a really fun club event this fall called the Timberhill Member Invitational. It will be an adult doubles event where each doubles pair must have at least one TTC member (the partner can be anyone). We'll have flighted doubles tournaments, lots of prize money skill contests, a player dinner, and more! It's going to be the must-attend event of the year at TTC, and something that we hope to build bigger each year. So stay tuned, there will be much more information to come!
Lastly, we are close to filling the last position on our pro staff, with a third full-time pro (in addition to full-timers Colby and Sam, and part-timer Jason). We're really excited about the hire, and we'll announce who it is as soon as details are finalized in April. The new pro should be starting at TTC in May.
