REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR CAMP QUARTERMAN!

Summer Camp plans are coming together—we have almost a full team of staff—counselors, support staff, and clergy. I am so excited for this summer and all the great ideas that have been shared by and with the staff. I am already mentally packing for those two weeks in July.

The theme for the summer is “The Lord is My Shepherd”

Please share information about summer camp with the youth from your parishes, your children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends. We hope they will join us for a week of great fun, and learning as we build friendships, work together, learn about God, and love one another.

The support of the diocese for our youth and the youth program is appreciated. Thank you! It is a joy to work with the youth and members from our churches in the diocese.

Does your church have stuff that you just don't use anymore but that you think might be useful to another church in the diocese? We have created a Facebook group so that you can now share all that extra stuff with churches in the diocese. This Facebook group is called "Northwest Texas Church Swap." It can be accessed here.

You can use this Facebook group to share items like vestments, office products, dishes, books, appliances, supplies, tools, or other material that you want to get rid of. Think of this group as a type of Craig's List or Facebook Marketplace for our diocese.

You can also use this page to ask other churches in the diocese about items that may be available. For example, your church may be looking for a thurible, so you can post on this page to see if other churches have an extra thurible laying around.

Make sure to join the group so that you can see what items other churches have available. Joining the group will add this group's postings into your regular Facebook feed so that you can see any new items that become available.

To keep up-to-date on diocesan news, check out our website or follow us on Facebook!

St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School - Texas Rising Star Certified

Kelly Cambern - St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School Director

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School was required to implement a new program (for us it was new) called the Texas Rising Star (TRS). This program helps the school with funding and recommendations from the state. We are ranked on a scale of 1 through 4-Stars, 4-Star being the highest you can receive.

The observers came and sat in our classroom’s (10 of them) for an hour and a half, evaluating each teacher, classroom, and school administration.

We were judged on administrational management, classroom management, curriculum, classroom visuals, teaching, interactions with children, etc.

We “came on board” the last week of March with a 4-STAR Rating!  This is unheard of, per our state representative, for anyone to come on as a 4-Star. It usually takes a few years for a program to reach a 4-Star rating.

The children and I are so very blessed with an amazing staff that loves St. Matt’s as much as I do! We are so blessed to be able to pull off a 4-Star rating…“right out of the gate!!”

Embodied Beloved Community: A Pilgrimage along the Civil Rights Trail

Beginning in Tennessee, pilgrims will continue over eight days through Mississippi, Alabama, concluding in Georgia. Our time together will expose you to the shapers and keepers of history, including religious and civic leaders, librarians, educators and cultural curators. Traveling during an election year and this tender time in our national life, you will also engage with local and national leaders to learn from history about courage and faithful witness in uncertain times. Throughout the pilgrimage our reflections will center on the truth of two foundational questions: Who am I? and Who does God need me to be right now?
