Total Solar Eclipse: Traffic Advisory and Travel Tips

The City of Beavercreek, along with many other communities throughout the western portion of Ohio, will experience a solar eclipse for several minutes on Monday, April 8, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m. The last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806, and the next total solar eclipse visible in North America will be in 2044. Historically, eclipse events have led to significant population increases, sometimes doubling or even tripling the size of communities.

City of Beavercreek to begin making upgrades to 9-acre site, including salt barn renovation


In April, the City of Beavercreek will begin upgrades to a 9-acre site utilized by the city’s public service division. The site is located along Dayton-Xenia Road, adjacent to Rotary Park. The project aims to reconfigure the site's layout to enhance efficiency and better align with public service operations.

Zoning Permits


Planning a spring project around the home? Don’t forget to apply for a zoning permit through the City of Beavercreek’s Planning and Development Department.


Zoning permits are required for residential properties if you are building or replacing any structure on the property, including but not limited to a fence, deck, shed, pool, new home, garage, retaining wall, patio cover or any addition to a primary or accessory structure a zoning permit is required. Zoning permits are not required for interior remodeling, at grade patios, garage sales, temporary signs or driveways.

Soar into Spring


Celebrate the return of warmer weather at Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture's Soar into Spring on Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dominick Lofino Park, 640 Grange Hall Road. There will be games, inflatables, and food! The Greene Optimists Club will also help us celebrate National Kite Month with free kites to fly! This event is free and for all ages.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program 


Do you have a teenager who loves the thrill of camp, but is too old to attend? Our Counselor-in-Training program is perfect for 14 to 17-year-olds who enjoy working with children, love the outdoors, and are wanting a great summer experience. This program helps young adults learn and use effective leadership skills!

Beavercreek Police Department

Safety Town Registration Opens April 8!


Registration for Safety Town 2024 opens Monday, April 8! Safety Town is a fun, educational program for children entering kindergarten and first grade in Beavercreek City Schools District! During this fun and interactive experience, Beavercreek Police Officers and guest speakers provide age-appropriate instruction on various topics including traffic safety, pedestrian and bike safety, fire safety, poison prevention, animal safety, stranger awareness, school and bus safety, 911 usage, emergency preparedness, and gun safety. Spots are limited and filled on a first-come basis.

Beavercreek Police Department Appoints First Female Detective


The Beavercreek Police Department has appointed Officer Casey McCain to detective, marking the department's first-ever female detective in its history.

 

Officer McCain, began her journey with the City of Beavercreek Police Department in February 2022. Prior to her tenure here, McCain served as a police officer with the City of Urbana since 2016, where she gained experience in various areas of law enforcement, including officer-in-charge responsibilities, LEADS TAC duties, and fleet maintenance.

Register today for Junior Golf Camp


Only a few spots remain for Beavercreek Golf Club’s Junior Golf Camp on June 11 through 13. Don’t miss your chance to enroll your child in a fun-filled learning experience that will ignite their passion for golf.
