A Message From the Pastor
Dear CCA Family,

I want to offer this very special thank you to the congregation and friends of the church for the prayers, cards, and all the delicious food brought to the Parsonage during my recent surgery and recovery. I also want to especially thank all the people who worked so hard in the church during my absence: Marcie Nordlund, Barb Weitz, and Bill Hellyer for delivering the sermons, Wynn Ann Roggeveen, Ed Turk, and Michelle Tarosas for acting as worship leaders, and Karen and the Trustees for keeping the building intact! By naming these names, I know that I am leaving out way too many, but please know how much I appreciate everything. Thank you, and thank God!

Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Food Pantry Donations
The Algonquin - Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry’s mission is to provide temporary, immediate access to food for families in need living within the boundaries of Algonquin - Lake in the Hills. In 2023, the pantry served 10,828 people that included 2,987 households, and distributed 271,330 pounds of food. The statistics for January 2024 reflect 962 people served, which included 17 new clients, and February included 1,104 served, including 22 new clients.
The food pantry could not exist without the support of the community and pantry volunteers - many of whom are members of our congregation - and is always seeking people to donate their time. In addition to non-perishable food, monetary donations are also encouraged and are used to purchase much needed perishable items such as eggs, butter, and cheese. For information about the pantry’s food needs as well as volunteer opportunities, visit the ALITH Food Pantry’s website: http://alithfoodpantry.org. Up-to-date lists of current pantry needs are also posted around the church and available on the table in the Narthex. Donations can be left in the grocery cart by the elevator. Please refrain from donating items that are past the “best by” expiration date. Thank you!
