The following is adapted from past descriptions about Mercury direct, but the dates and positions are unique to this Mercury direct.

• As we see above, Mercury stations direct on April 25th, but it still will stay in the retrograde

arc or shadow until May 13th, when Mercury, for the third time, crosses the degree where it

stationed retrograde. That means that if you have a planet, point, or angle around that degree you

may have been especially affected by this past Mercury retrograde cycle. Otherwise as a general

rule, the three weeks of the retrograde, though often bringing petty disagreements due to lack of

clarity or inability to listen to others, communication and transportation delays, and other

slowdowns, is the perfect time to review situations, revise projects, and even getting counseling

for a situation you want to change. This Mercury retrograde period was especially challenging

since during this cycle we had a total solar eclipse on April 8th, Mars-Saturn conjunction on April

10th, and Jupiter-Uranus conjunction on April 21st. Not all of these were necessarily difficult, but

it meant that there was a lot of activity worldwide and as a general rule for you, but especially for

you wherever the retrograde took place in your chart.

The good news is that Mercury's direct motion causes it to speed up, and can restore better

communication, clarity, and more ability for understanding and listening to others. Many of the

snafus that you felt under Mercury Retrograde will start to ease up, however, do not be fooled

when a planet goes direct, since it will first take about a week for that energy to start to move

forward quickly. Mercury and Venus rebound quicker than Mars through Pluto, but Mercury still

takes time to move ahead, since Mercury still stays in its retrograde arc, or shadow. That is the

period from when Mercury first crosses the degree where it eventually goes direct (March 19,

2024) until the date when Mercury crosses for the final time the degree where it first stationed

retrograde (May 13, 2024), as you can see in the above table.

It's important in that if you have a planet, point, or angle in between Tropical. 15° Aries 58’-27° Aries 13’ or Sidereal. 21° Pisces 52’-03° Aries 07’, where Mercury retrograded, you may have felt this particular Mercury retrograde more than usual. Because retrograde and direct stations are points of power and intensity, often powerful events occur around the station both in the world or your personal life, and even if that Mercury did not hit a significant planet, point, or angle in your chart, it will still travel through a particular house. (In this case it is where tropical Aries/sidereal Pisces and Aries lie.) At least there is more opportunity for negotiating on a direct Mercury, though I would suspect that things will begin in a new direction and will really take shape after May 13. You can also look at this to measure things in your own life that you would like to be started, resolved, or even ended so that you can move forward. The good news is that we won't have to deal with that pesky Mercury retrograde again until August 5-28, 2024. Right now get used to moving ahead with plans that may have been put on hold, or that may have slowed down. You can start making those plans now and once you leave Mercury's retrograde arc, they will begin to manifest. Look at the area in your chart that is framed by the degrees of the retrograde and direct station but even more so look at where tropical Aries/sidereal Pisces and Aries lie in your chart, since this particular retrograde period influenced two areas in your chart instead of one (if you use Indian astrology or western sidereal), and it just might take slightly longer for plans to materialize, since retrogrades always cause the planet to stay in one or two signs longer than usual. The following show the dates that Mercury entered tropical Aries/sidereal Pisces and Aries.

Like all planets when they retrograde they stay in one section of the zodiac longer than usual. Mercury usually goes through a sign in less than a month when it moves along its steady course, but with this retrograde Mercury it stays in the same sign for a little more than two months with the tropical zodiac, and between two signs in almost three months with the sidereal zodiac as follows.

According to the tropical zodiac, Mercury stays in Aries from March 10-May 15, 2024. According to the sidereal zodiac (Jyotisa or Western sidereal) Mercury straddles Pisces and Aries between March 7-May 31, 2024 as follows: Direct Mercury enters Pisces March 7, 2024 and enters Aries March 25, 2024. Retrograde Mercury re-enters Pisces April 9, 2024, Mercury direct re-enters Aries on May 10, 2024, and enters Taurus May 31, 2024.

It is during this period that Mercury enters and leaves the retrograde arc and stations retrograde and direct, which you can see above in bold. The influence on the area of your chart where tropical Aries, or sidereal Pisces and Aries are located is very focused and requires us to pay attention since Mercury retrograde represents delays, technical difficulties, miscommunication and other annoying things that concern the area of the chart where tropical Aries, or sidereal Pisces and Aries are located. Mercury direct straightens this out and sets you again on a fast forward path.

Since retrogrades are a period of reflection and revision, and since the planets slow up, think about what you realized or worked on over the last month or two and get to work on realizing those goals and plans. This area of your life might have become unpredictable, may have slowed down, or taken an unexpected turn but now they will straighten out and move forward. Scroll down for whichever system you use.  

Read if you use Indian sidereal astrology. If you have a planet, point, or angle in your chart between 21° Pisces 52’-3° Aries 7’, it will hit those degrees three times when Mercury is direct, retrograde, and direct between March 19-May 13, 2024. If you have something on one of the stationary degrees, it will be there twice with the station being very potent but just for a day or two, since Mercury moves so quickly. Whatever the planet, point, or angle represents, or whichever house the planet rules, may have slowed down, reviewed, and revised, but ultimately reinvigorated and reinvented slowly after April 25, 2024 when it goes direct and at a faster pace after May 13, 2024 when it leaves the retrograde arc. Below are some keywords for the meaning of the planets.

Mercury stays in Pisces and Aries (read above for the exact dates) between March 7-May 31, 2024. The houses that sidereal Pisces and Aries occupy are the areas that may have been slowed down, reviewed, revised, but ultimately reinvigorated and reinvented slowly after April 25 when it goes direct and at a faster pace after May 13 when it leaves the retrograde arc and leaves Aries after May 31st. If you do not know which houses sidereal Scorpio and Sagittarius occupy, look at your lagna (ascendant), or Moon, or even your Sun (if you do not know your ascendant or Moon), and just count from there. General descriptions for bhavas (houses) are as follows:  

1. appearance, destiny, temperament, personality, constitution; 2. Money, family life, food, speech, early childhood; 3. Siblings, Fine arts, courage, desires; 4. Mother, happiness, real estate, vehicles; 5. Children, romance, investments, speculation; 6. Open enemies, work, competition, obstacles, illness; 7. Marriage, partners, contracts, passion; 8. Life and death cycle, research, accidents, other's money, inheritance; 9. Father, teacher (guru), religion, higher learning, opportunity; 10. Career, status, public recognition, reputation; 11. Profits, rewards, gains from work, awards, older siblings; 12. spiritual practice, secret enemies, foreign travel, debt, confinement.

Mercury stays in Aries between March 10-May 15, 2024. The houses that tropical Aries occupies are the areas that may have been slowed down, reviewed, revised, but ultimately reinvigorated and reinvented slowly after April 25 when it goes direct and at a faster pace after May 13 when it leaves the retrograde arc. If you do not know which house tropical Aries occupies, look at your ascendant or Sun (if you do not know your ascendant), and just count from there. If you use an unequal house system, Aries may span two houses. General descriptions for houses are as follows:
