Celebrating Volunteer Month!

Happy April PMINYC! This month is National Volunteer Month, a time to recognize and celebrate our dedicated members who generously give their time, energy, and skills to make a difference for the Chapter and NYC PM community at large! As a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the field of project management, we understand the value of volunteers who play a crucial role in the success of our initiatives. From contributing to the development of educational programs to supporting our events, administrative needs, and strategic goals, volunteers bring unique perspectives and expertise that help us achieve our mission.

On behalf of PMINYC, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all of our volunteers. Thank you for your unwavering enthusiasm - you are making a positive impact in the project management community!

Unfortunately, the March survey received only 22 responses, which is insufficient to achieve reliable survey accuracy under most assumptions and parameters. As a result, we have decided not to publish the results for this month.

INTRODUCING

PRESIDENT'S CORNER

Kim Beynon

PMINYC President and Executive Coach

To our PMINYC Community,

At the first quarter Town Hall, we heard feedback from you that you would like to have ways to interact directly with other PMINYC members. We value and prioritize the feedback of our members and are thrilled to announce that we are actively exploring the possibility of adding a members-only section to our website. Our goal with this initiative is to provide our members with new and exciting opportunities to connect and engage with one another. The member area will be a place where you can engage with other PMINYC members, exchange ideas, share best practices, and form meaningful relationships. Building community is a strategic focus this year and we want to do everything we can to empower you to interact with your fellow members outside of official events and channels. Therefore, we have focused our survey questions this month on what you would prefer to see in a community area of the website. Please take the time to answer the survey and tell us what would be most beneficial to you. Community truly starts with you!

Volunteerism is at the heart of our non-profit organization and we are incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated team of volunteers who make our mission possible. As we celebrate National Volunteer Month, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each and every PMINYC volunteer. Your passion, hard work, and unwavering commitment to our community are truly inspiring - we could not do it without you.

As we move forward, we are excited to launch our upcoming volunteer drive, which will provide opportunities for members of our community to get involved and make a meaningful impact. We encourage anyone who is considering volunteering to take the leap and give it a try. Not only will you have the opportunity to give back to the profession that has helped you grow, but you will also have the chance to expand your network, develop new skills, and make lifelong connections with like-minded professionals.

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, ranging from programming and outreach to mentoring and leadership positions. Whatever your interests or skills may be, we are confident that we can find the perfect role for you. So, if you are ready to make a difference and be part of a dynamic and engaged community, we invite you to join our team of passionate volunteers. Build your profile that highlights your interests at https://volunteer.pmi.org/.

Together, we can continue to make PMINYC a great chapter and a force for good in the project management community!

I am listening.

Until next month...

Kind regards

Kim
