Letter from the President

Hello April.

It looks like spring wants to be here. Seems to be dragging but hopefully will show soon. It is gonna be a busy month with the Paducah Quilt Show as well as various retreats happening. Our speaker for April is Marcy with the Elkton Quilt Shop in Ardmore, TN. She is planning a trunk show as well as offering fabric and other things. If you haven’t been to her store yet, you need to check it out plus you can swing by Mildred’s for lunch as a bonus to the day.

I wanted to remind everyone to start getting their sale merchandise ready for the yard sale in June. This is our chance to make all of those extra things we have in our stash and tool boxes disappear and for them to become someone else's much needed items. Talk to Sue Bartlow for a table.

Much credit is due to Susan Yell and Leigh Ann Hubbard for a stellar challenge this year. The half square triangle Paint Chip Challenge is a hit. I have received a lot of positive feedback about the creativity and drive it has brought about. Thanks Ladies.

Thanks everyone and I hopefully will see you at the meeting on April 13 and the mini retreat on April 15 at St Matthews Church on Hughes.

Thanks,

David O’Dell

Madison Station Guild President.

Paint Chip Challenge

Mini-Guild Retreat -

April 15th at St Mathew's

We are preparing to have a fantastic Sew Day on April 15th from 9-3. We are asking people to bring power strips and extension cords. We would also like for people to bring some finger food to share like sandwiches, fruit, chips and dip or cookies or whatever. That's just some ideas for the day. There will be prizes thanks to both Sweet Home Quilting and Southern Charm who have graciously agreed to give us donations for this event. Susan will be speaking about it at the meeting and we will be looking for a show of hands as to how many will be coming out to sew with us. It promises to be a whole lot of fun and it will be really cool to see what everyone will be working on.

Charity Quilts

If you have been working on Charity Quilts, please bring them to the meeting and share during Show and Tell!!

De-Stash For Cash at the June Meeting

Who has a stash of fabric or notions that you don’t use or changed your mind on? On June 8 we are going to have a De-stash for Cash sale for our meeting. We can have up to 20 tables and it is $10 cash to participate. We will be putting up to two people per 8-foot table. The $10 collected will go directly to a mission here at the church. There will be a sign up sheet near or at the membership table at this month's meeting. Please bring cash to sign up. You can do any handmade items, quilting, and sewing supplies. Please make sure to price your items. Questions, text or call Sue at 256-617-3167.
