Vision Impairment is Associated With as Many as 100,000 U.S. Dementia Cases
A study conducted by the NIA (National Institute on Aging) has found that vision impairment is associated with as many as 100,000 cases of dementia in the U.S. The study concluded that those cases of dementia could have been prevented with improved eye care.

Frontotemporal disorders (FTD), sometimes called frontotemporal dementia, are the result of damage to neurons in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. Many possible symptoms can result, including unusual behaviors, emotional problems, trouble communicating, difficulty with work, or difficulty with walking.
