In the Wake of War: Israeli Women’s Heroic Journey Towards Healing a Nation
April 7 on Zoom

Featuring Orit Sulitzeanu, the executive director of the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel). Israeli women have emerged as beacons of hope and agents of change in times of crisis. The event will explore the overlooked narratives of these women amid the tumult of war and widespread sexual violence of the terror attack.

A Guided Tour at Library and Archives Canada

Michael Kent will conduct a guided tour of the Jacob M. Lowy Collection, which contains approximately 3,000 volumes printed between the 15th and 20th centuries. It includes printing in Hebrew, Yiddish, Judeo-Arabic, Judeo-Spanish, Latin, Greek and other languages. Highlights include first and early editions of Talmud, codes of law, responsa, legal and biblical commentaries and mystical texts.

Special guest MPP Lisa Macleod will deliver an inspirational message, using her own journey as an example of what can be accomplished through perseverance and dedication.

Queering Ritual Adornment: Creative Beit Midrash

This series with Rabbinic Student Léah Millerwill offer opportunities to physically engage with Jewish traditions of art and ritual adornment. Historically, the world of tzitzit (fringes) and tallitot (prayer shawls) has been exclusionary of women and queer people, and spiritual technologies are not always accessible or visible as an option. This event is designed to center queer and trans Jews, though all are welcome!
